Abstract:
A method for regulating a call placement rate (CPR) of an autodialer (AD) (100) includes: measuring a time delay between a first event and a second event; and, adjusting the CPR of the AD (100) in response to the measured time delay.
Abstract:
One aspect relates to indicating at least partially relative to an at least one receiving communicating device a called entity information at least partially describing an at least one desired contacting or forwarding entity that an at least one contacting communicating device is attempting to contact. Another aspect can relate to transferring from at least one desired contacting or forwarding entity a called entity information at least partially describing the at least one desired contacting or forwarding entity which an at least one contacting communicating device is attempting to contact. Yet another aspect can relate to filtering out communications having at least one desired uniform resource identifiers that do not contain a prescribed called entity information matching a prescribed pattern.
Abstract:
A method is provided for discarding an audio message if the audio message meets a predefined discarding condition, which may factor in at least the audio message's total length, presence of spoken word(s) in the audio message, presence of tone(s) in the audio message and the presence of click(s) in the audio message. An audio message may be discarded if no spoken words are detected in it and the audio message's total length is shorter than a predefined minimal message length, or it contains a tone and the audio message's total length minus the tone's length is shorter than the predefined minimal message length, or it contains a click sound and the audio message's total length minus the click's length is shorter than the predefined minimal message length. An audio message may be first stored in a memory buffer and then moved to a legitimate messages pool memory or to a spurious messages pool memory. A messages discriminator and a voicemail system that utilize the messages discrimination method are also provided.
Abstract:
A mediation server for controlling contents of incoming and outgoing communication information exchanged as part of a conversation is provided. The mediation server may be a centralized server between an internal (private) network and an external network, utilized for enforcing the internal network's policy and detecting a potential security compromise in the internal network. Predefined evaluation criteria are utilized to enforce internal policy or security policy within the internal network. When communication information is exchanged, the mediation server may monitor potential policy or security breaches in the communication information utilizing the predefined evaluation criteria and execute an appropriate action to prevent potential policy or security breaches.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for mixing audio signals. The invention is based on the idea to base selection of what audio channels to mix on the dynamic behaviour of the audio channels in terms of whether they are active or not, rather than basing the selection on quantative measures of the audio channels. According to the invention, a set of audio channels are arranged in a mixing stack and a mixed audio signal is produced from the topmost channels above a predetermined threshold level in the stack. Whenever a channel becomes active, it is placed at the top of the stack.
Abstract:
In on embodiment, techniques for providing alerts to a user when a communication frequency pattern between a user and a contact has not occurred during a pre-determined amount of time are provided. Communication records between the contact and the user can be analyzed to determine if the communication frequency pattern with the contact during the pre-determined amount of time does not meet pre-determined criteria. For example, the criteria may be generate an alert if communications do not occur in the last month, generate an alert if less than five communications occur in the last six months, or any other communication pattern. Also, the content of a communication may be analyzed to determine if a certain topic has been discussed. If a certain topic has not been discussed during the pre-determined amount of time, an alert may also be generated reminding the user that the topic has not been discussed.
Abstract:
An approach is provided for supporting special call services and applications in a data network. A request message is generated for establishment of a voice session over a data network. The request message specifies that the voice session is special as to permit a non-subscriber to establish the voice session for a predetermined duration.
Abstract:
A system and method for automated connection triggered by availability status. The present invention includes a method of determining whether a connection request is pending to connect to a previously unavailable party and automatically making the connection now that the party is available. An alternate method includes generating a request to automatically connect to a party when the party becomes available. Application of embodiments of the present invention includes a telephony and/or an internet system.
Abstract:
A method of providing a caller with a directory assistance dialog. The dialog is configurable, at any level of the dialog, from an automated speech recognition (ASR) dialog to an operator-assisted (OP) dialog. The dialog is handed off to an operator if any level of the speech recognition dialog fails. Also, a configuration switch may be set to cause the dialog to be handed off to an operator even if a response at some level of the ASR dialog is successfully recognized.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus to process an incoming message is described. The method may comprise, at a recipient system, receiving an incoming message from a message communicator and automatically analyzing message content to identify a keyword included in the message content. Thereafter, a predefined action associated with the keyword may be identified and the action may be performed. In an example embodiment, the predefined action may be a priority with the message, alerting an intended recipient of the message, routing the message to the intended recipient, paging the intended recipient, emailing the message to the intended recipient, sending an SMS message to the intended recipient, or the like. In an example embodiment, a user/owner of a mailbox may search a message database to identify incoming messages which includes the search term in the message content.
