Abstract: Each of a plurality of modules comprises a respective one of a plurality of antenna elements, and each of a subset of the plurality of modules comprising a respective one of a plurality of transceivers, wherein the plurality of modules are interconnected via one or more communication links. The circuitry may be operable to receive a calibration signal via the plurality of antenna elements, determine, for each one of the antenna elements, a time and/or phase of arrival of the calibration signal, calculate, based on the time and/or phase of arrival of the calibration signal at each of the plurality of antenna elements, electrical distances between the plurality of antenna elements on the one or more communication links, and calculate beamforming coefficients for use with the plurality of antenna elements based on the electrical distances.

Abstract: An integrated circuit may comprise a tuner operable to digitize a band of frequencies comprising a plurality of television channels, a crossbar operable to select one or more of the plurality of television channels output by the tuner, a plurality of demodulators operable to receive the selected one or more television channels from the crossbar and demodulate the selected one or more television channels to recover a plurality of transport streams, a transport module operable to multiplex the plurality of transport streams into a single packet stream, and a framer operable to: encapsulate packets of the plurality of transport streams into transport stream frames of a serial datastream, and insert filler frames into the serial datastream after every Nth transport stream frame of the serial datastream, where N is an integer.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a dual mode global navigation satellite system may comprise selectively enabling a medium Earth orbit (MEO) radio frequency (RF) path and a low Earth orbit (LEO) RF path in a wireless communication device to receive RF satellite signals. The signals may be processed to determine a position of the wireless device. The signals may be digitized and buffered before further processing. The RF paths may be time-division duplexed by the selective enabling of the MEO and LEO paths. Acquisition and tracking modules in the MEO RF path may be blanked when the LEO RF path is enabled. The MEO RF path may be powered down when the LEO RF path is enabled. The signals may be down-converted to an intermediate frequency before down-converting to baseband frequencies or may be down-converted directly to baseband frequencies. In-phase and quadrature signals may be processed.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for utilizing adaptive inter-frame gap reduction in Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA®) networks. A network node that is configured as network controller within a Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA®) network may receive communication timing related information associated with each of a plurality of network nodes in the MoCA network; assess based on the communication timing related information, communication timing for each pair of network nodes in the plurality of network nodes; and adaptively configure communications between each pair of network nodes in the plurality of network nodes based on the assessing. The configuring may comprise adjusting timing related parameters or fields in packets. The timing related parameters or fields may comprise inter-frame gap (IFG) fields in physical layer (PHY) packets. The communication timing related information may comprise ranging information or ranging-based timing information determined based on the ranging information.

Abstract: Methods and systems for crest factor reduction may comprise generating an original waveform to be amplified by a programmable gain amplifier (PGA); generating a distortion signal utilizing a PGA model that predicts an output signal of the PGA based on the original waveform; generating an error signal by subtracting out the original waveform from the distortion signal; filtering the generated error signal; generating a conditioned waveform with crest factor reduced from that of the original waveform by adding the filtered error signal to the original waveform; and amplifying the conditioned waveform. The crest factor of the original waveform may be reduced based on spectral mask requirements. The generating of the conditioned waveform may be iterated. The distortion signal may be generated based on a predistortion model. A signal may be fed back from an output of the PGA to the predistortion model, which may be dynamically configured.

Abstract: A cable modem termination system (CMTS) may determine, for a plurality of cable modems served by the CMTS, a corresponding plurality of SNR-related metrics. The CMTS may assigning the modems among a plurality of service groups based on the SNR-related metrics. For any one of the modems, the CMTS may configure physical layer communication parameters to be used by the one of the modems based on a SNR-related metric of a service group to which the one of the modems is assigned. The physical layer communication parameters may include one or more of: transmit power, receive sensitivity, timeslot duration, modulation type, modulation order, forward error correction (FEC) type, and FEC code rate. The CMTS and the modems may communicate using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) over a plurality of subcarriers, and the physical layer communication parameters may be determined on a per-subcarrier basis.

Abstract: A receiver includes a plurality of input paths for receiving and processing a plurality of input RF signals. The input paths isolate one or more portions of corresponding ones of the received input RF signals, and combine the isolated portions of the corresponding ones of the received input RF signals onto one or more output signals. A bandwidth of the isolated portions of the corresponding ones of the received input RF signals and a bandwidth of the output signals are variable. The isolated portions of the corresponding ones of the received plurality of input RF signals are extracted and utilized to generate the output signals. The portions of the corresponding ones of the received plurality of input RF signals may be mapped into one or more channel slots in the time domain. The channel slots may be assigned in the frequency domain to one or more frequency bins.

Abstract: Methods and systems for multi-path video and network channels may comprise a communication device comprising a wideband tuner (WB) and a narrowband tuner (NB). A video channel and a network channel may be received in the WB when the device is operating in a first stage. A video channel and a network channel may be received in the WB and the network channel may also be received in the NB when the device is operating in a second stage. The network channel may be received in the NB when the device is operating in a third stage. The reception of the network channel from both the WB and NB may enable a continuous reception of the network channel in a transition between the first and third stages. The WB may be operable to receive a plurality of channels and the NB may be operable to receive a single channel.
