Abstract:
Process for the mono alkylation of a hydrocarbon substrate containing aromatic hydrocarbon compounds comprising contacting the aromatic substrate with an alkylating agent consisting of a mixture of olefinic compounds and poly-alkylated aromatic compounds in presence of a fluorinated sulphonic acid.
Abstract:
Hydrotreating catalyst containing one or more metal oxides and/or sulphides selected from Group VI-B and Group VIII of the Periodic Table supported on a porous refractory carrier, wherein the catalyst being in form of an angular extrudate with rounded edges.
Abstract:
A method for generating a solution containing rhodium at a concentration of at least 0.01 M and preferably at least 0.20 M, comprising treating solid rhodium iodide or other solid source of rhodium with a reducing agent selected from a source of hydrazine, hydrazine hydrate, hydrazinium salts, organic derivatives of hydrazine, hypophosphorous acid and salts of hypophosphorous acid.
Abstract:
A process for producing a catalyst, comprising the steps of modifying a carrier by a first impregnation with at least one alkaline earth metal in a first metal precursor solution, the first metal precursor being decomposed to form at least one metal oxide or metal hydroxide, thereby obtaining a modified carrier. A second impregnation is carried out by incipient wetness by a second precursor solution comprising at least one metal Me in a second solution. Finally, the second precursor is decomposed, thereby obtaining a catalyst body having an enrichment of the at least one metal Me in the outer shell of the catalyst body, the metal being present in a concentration having either as an egg-shell profile or a hammock profile.
Abstract:
A methanol plant is provided in which a first feed comprising CO2 and a second feed comprising H2 are provided, the combined feed is shifted in a CO2 shift unit so as to provide a first synthesis gas stream. Water is removed in a water removal unit, to provide a second synthesis gas stream. A methanol synthesis section receives the second synthesis gas stream, and provides a product stream comprising methanol. A process for producing a product stream comprising methanol, and a process for upgrading a methanol plant are also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hydrocarbon plant and related process, in which a first feed of methanol, having a water content of less than 10% by weight, is converted in a syngas generation stage (A) into at least a syngas stream. A synthesis stage (B) is arranged to receive the syngas stream and convert it to at least a hydrocarbon product stream and an off-gas stream. The plant and process of the present invention use better-understood process steps compared to known processes/plants and provide the opportunity for a reduction in CO2 emissions.
Abstract:
An SOEC core plant, comprising a plurality of SOEC stacks assembled in a plurality of SOEC cores, wherein each of the SOEC cores may be individually isolated and controlled independently from the other SOEC cores of the plant.
Abstract:
A chemical plant is provided which comprises an air separation section (ASU), a reformer section, a water-removal section and a refrigerated separation section. A first feed of atmospheric air is separated in the ASU to produce a refrigerant stream. A hydrocarbon feed is converted to a first syngas stream in the reformer section. Water is removed from the first syngas stream and at least a portion of the resulting dried first syngas stream is separated it into at least a product stream, and a by-product stream; by means of the refrigerated separation section. Importantly, the refrigerated separation section is cooled by a refrigerant stream (e.g., nitrogen) from the ASU. A process for producing a product stream, using the plant, is also provided.
Abstract:
Process and plant for producing hydrocarbon products from a solid renewable feed-stock, where in a thermal decomposition section such as a pyrolysis section for the treatment of the solid renewable feedstock, a pyrolysis off-gas stream and a pyrolysis oil stream are generated, and where after hydroprocessing of the pyrolysis oil in a hydroprocessing section, a hydrogen-rich stream and an off-gas stream comprising hydrocarbons are produced. A portion of the hydrogen-rich stream is used as a recycle gas stream in the hydroprocessing section for the production of said hydrocarbon products, such as naphtha and diesel, and another portion may be used for hydrogen production in a hydrogen producing unit, while the off-gas stream is used together with the pyrolysis off-stream in the hydrogen producing unit. The produced hydrogen, i.e. make-up hydrogen, is used in the hydroprocessing section.
