Abstract: This present invention discloses a halogen-free flame retardant polyolefin foam composite, which is comprises: 80-125 parts by weight of ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), 8-13 parts by weight of high density polyethylene (HDPE) or low density polyethylene (LDPE), 15-25 parts by weight of polyolefin elastomer (POE), 60-77 parts by weight of acid source material, 17-22 parts by weight of carbon source material, 8-11 parts by weight of gas source material, 1-8 parts by weight of retardant synergist, 5.5-8 parts by weight of composite foaming agent, 0.7-1.0 parts by weight of crosslinking agent, 4.0-5.5 parts by weight of plasticizer, 0.5-1.6 parts by weight of surface treatment agent, 20-35 parts by weight of compatibility, 6-14 parts by weight of inorganic filler, and 1.6-4.6 parts by weight of additive. This halogen-free flame retardant polyolefin foam composite has the advantages of good softness, flexibility, impact resistance, low density, low compressibility and deformability, good shock absorbability, and so on.

Abstract: Disclosed is a high filling and high resilience soft foaming polyethylene material, comprising the following parts of raw materials by weight: 15-20 parts polyethylene, 5-20 parts elastomers, 60-80 parts modified calcium carbonate, 1-10 parts chemical foaming agent, 0.5-1.5 parts crosslinking agent and 1-5 parts physical foaming agent. Also disclosed is a method of preparing high filling and high resilience soft foaming polyethylene material. The present invention can prepare a high calcium carbonate filling and high resilience soft foaming polyethylene material with calcium carbonate filler content as high as 55-75%, improving rigidity, hardness and compressive strength of the material while maintaining the elasticity of the foaming material, and reducing material density. The present invention has a simple process, greatly reduces costs and is economical and practical.

Abstract: A process for preparing a cellulosic sponge includes the steps of treating an aqueous suspension of cellulose fibers with periodate; adjusting the pH of the resulting dialdehyde cellulose fibers suspension to a value between 2.5 to 5.5; freezing the suspension obtained and thawing the three dimensional structure to render the cellulosic sponge. The process may further include a step of drying to render a cellulosic foam. Both the new sponge and the new foam may also be further chemically modified obtaining a broad variety of derivatives with tailored properties which are useful in many different applications.

Abstract: Foams for filling cavities and crevasses and for forming foamed products are provided. The latex foam may include an A-side containing a functionalized latex and a B-side that contains a crosslinking agent and optionally a non-functionalized latex. The A- and/or B-side contain a blowing agent package or components forming the blowing agent package. The blowing agent package may be the combination of two or more chemicals that when mixed together form a gas or a chemical compound that, when activated by heat or light, forms a gas. In an alternate embodiment, the latex foam includes a functionalized latex, an acid, and an encapsulated crosslinking agent and base. Alternatively, the spray latex foam may include a functionalized latex, a crosslinking agent, and an encapsulated dry acid and dry base. The encapsulating agent may be a protective, non-reactive shell that can be broken or melted at the time of application.
