Abstract:
A massager (12) includes an inductively chargeable battery (48), avoiding the need to deal with batteries and cords while providing a pleasant exothermic warmth. Different embodiments of sealing and skinning (13) make the massager (12) hygienically safe and fluid- and water-resistant. Sophisticated controls (50) provide the massager with the ability to respond to direct-mounted user controls (20, 22), wireless communication controls such as remote controls (30) and a plethora of other protocol-compatible devices, systems and media. A mating base (14) supports the massager (12) for inductive charging in a stable, aesthetically pleasant and safe relationship.
Abstract:
A device for assisting a caregiver in delivering therapy to a patient, the device comprising a user interface configured to deliver prompts to a caregiver to assist the caregiver in delivering therapy to a patient; at least one sensor configured to detect the caregiver's progress in delivering the therapy, wherein the sensor is other than an electrode in an electrical contact with the body; a memory in which a plurality of different prompts are stored; a processor configured to determine which of the different prompts should be selected for delivery based on the progress detected by the sensor.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for vertebrae realignment through muscle relaxation and spinal manipulation, using a pillow-shaped body portion having an adjustable manipulation device for exerting pressure on the spine, heating device for providing heat, and a vibration device for providing vibration, all cooperating to manipulate the user's spine into proper alignment.

Abstract:
A medical device such as a defibrillator that incorporates corrective voice prompts that navigate users around operator errors. The voice prompts may, for example, address errors of readiness (e.g., failing to connect the defibrillator to an AC power source, failing to pre-connect electrodes, etc.), errors of omission (i.e., forgetting to do something, such as attempting to deliver a shock before the defibrillator is charged), and errors of commission (i.e., doing the wrong thing, such as attempting to shock VF when in the synchronization mode). The voice prompts may address errors in the delivery of therapy (e.g., attempting to shock VF when in the synchronization mode) or they may address errors other than in the delivery of therapy (e.g., failing to connect to an AC power source).
Abstract:
This massage machine comprises a seat 20, a leg-rest 50, a footrest 60, an electric extendable mechanism 80, a link mechanism 70, and a controller. The footrest is movably linked to a lower end of the leg-rest to be movable relative to the leg-rest, and is provided with air bags 63 configured to restrain a foot of the user. The electric extendable mechanism and the link mechanism are configured to move the footrest relative to the leg-rest. The controller gives the user a leg stretching mode, and in the leg stretching mode, the controller controls the electric extendable mechanism and the air bags such that the electric extendable mechanism moves the footrest relative to the leg-rest while the air bags restrains the foot of the user.
Abstract:
An apparatus for discharging a water stream for massaging a user's body characterized by a flexible limp slack membrane, preferably of terry cloth, mounted in front of a discharge orifice. In use, a water stream discharged from the orifice impacts against the rear face of the membrane while the membrane's front face is held against and massages the user's body. The kinetic energy of the stream deforms the limp, slack membrane and transfers through the membrane to provide a pleasing massage effect while minimizing the amount of unwanted splash. The apparatus may also include a continuous and/or pulsed shower outlet for selectively discharging a shower spray.
Abstract:
A unitarily-molded pillow for mounting in a spa and having a flexible membrane positioned therein and with respect to a water discharge jet by an integrally-molded support structure including an upper collar, a lower rim, and respective side shoulders, the support structure being integrated into a smooth, contoured front surface providing integral neck and head support, with the membrane positioned to provide a pleasing warm neck massage effect and the jet being adjustable via an air valve for user comfort.
Abstract:
A massaging apparatus with a massaging mechanism comprises at least one pressing member for pressing against a specific location of a body portion, and an unit for moving the pressing member transversely across the specific location while the pressing member is pressed against the specific location. The massaging apparatus may further include a support body for pressing the body portion. At least one massaging opening is formed in the support body for alignment with the specific location of a body portion placed on the support body. The massaging mechanism is provided inside the support body so that an upper end of the pressing member is projecting outward through the massaging opening. When the body portion is placed on the support body, the specific location of the body portion is pressed and massaged by the pressing member while the pressing member is transversely moved.
Abstract:
A neck pillow with internal vibrational mechanisms comprising a pillow positionable over a curved indentation at the edge of a shampooing sink, the pillow having a curved central extent to conform with the indentation of the sink and downwardly extending legs positionable interiorly and exteriorly of the sink, the pillow being of a waterproof external material configured to seal the interior of the pillow; and a plurality of vibrational balls secured together in a planar array beneath the foam, the balls being configured in a plurality of rows with the balls of each of the rows coupled by laterally extending wires with springs at the opposite ends thereof coupled to the lateral ends of the pillow, the central balls of the rows being hollow with a rotatable rod extending therethrough and with an eccentric within each central ball coupled for rotation with the rotation of the rod.
