Abstract: An electronic device included in a network enhances the configuring of other electronic devices in the network. The electronic device includes a network interface, a non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon, and a hardware processor. The hardware processor is configured to execute the instructions to transmit a first set of configuration data to another electronic device in the network, receive a message that the other electronic device was successfully configured using the first set of configuration data, and in response to the message transmit one or more next sets of configuration data to the other electronic device. Moreover, the hardware processor is configured to execute the instructions to receive a message that the other electronic device was not successfully configured using the first set of configuration data or the one or more next sets of configuration data and implement remedial action to address the unsuccessful configuration.

Abstract: A communication method and device are provided for communication in a point-to-multi-point communication network. A communication method includes receiving, by a node of a plurality of multi-point nodes, a transmission frame comprising a header including a repetition information and a data section comprising multiple modulation symbols, with at least two repeated modulation symbols that are repeated to represent a first modulation symbol; extracting, by the node, the repetition information of the header; recovering, by node, the amplitude of each modulation symbol of the at least two repeated modulation symbols; and combining, by the node, the amplitudes of the at least two repeated modulation symbols, based on the repetition information, to reconstruct the first modulation symbol represented by the at least two repeated modulation symbols.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods for avoiding, detecting, and mitigating message faults. Due to the expected large increase in electromagnetic background energy in in dense 5G and 6G networks, message faults are likely to dramatically increase, along with their costs. To avoid intermittent interference, a user device can monitor the noise level and request that the base station store incoming messages while the noise level is too high. Likewise, if a user device receives a faulted message while the noise level is high, the user device can delay the retransmission until the noise subsides. If the user device has received two faulted messages (a likely scenario in crowded urban/industrial/sporting environments), the user device can merge the two versions while selecting the message elements with the best quality (based on modulation, SNR, stability, and other criteria) and may thereby obtain a corrected message version, without resorting to a third transmission of the message.

Abstract: Network coding in automatic receipt request (ARQ) functionality is disclosed. A compatible transmitter configures a new transmission period, in which the set of data for transmission is transmitted, and a retransmission period, after the new transmission period, in which a number of network coded data is retransmitted based on the acknowledgement feedback received from the receivers receiving the transmitted set of data. The acknowledgement feedback identifies one or more data requested for retransmission by one or more of the receivers. The transmitter determines a number of network coded data that could be transmitted to accommodate each of the requesting receivers and the data requested by such receivers for retransmission. These network coded data would then be retransmitted by the transmitter during the retransmission period.
