Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: an active matrix substrate including a first electrode and a second electrode configured to generate a transverse electrical field; a counter substrate including a plurality of third electrodes disposed at predetermined intervals and having a stripe pattern; a liquid crystal layer located between the active matrix substrate and the counter substrate; and a control circuit. The liquid crystal display device can display an image in a first viewing angle mode and a second viewing angle mode having a viewing angle narrower than the first viewing angle mode by the control circuit switching an amplitude and a waveform of a voltage applied to the third electrodes. The control circuit applies a common voltage having a different value to the first electrode or the second electrode in each of the first viewing angle mode and the second viewing angle mode.

Abstract: A display device includes a substrate including a display region including three or more divided regions disposed in a first direction on a main surface, a scanning line extending in a first direction, a data line extending in a second direction, a plurality of pixels, and a scanning line connection wiring line extending in the second direction, which are disposed in each divided region, a plurality of data line drive circuits respectively connected to the data lines in each divided region, and a plurality of scanning line drive circuits corresponding to each divided region. The scanning line drive circuits and the data line drive circuits are respectively arrayed in the first direction outside the display region, each of the scanning line connection wiring lines electrically connects the scanning line drive circuit to the scanning line, and the scanning line drive circuit and the data line drive circuit display an image in at least one of the three or more divided regions at a frame frequency different from that in the other divided regions.

Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal display device including: a first substrate; a second substrate opposite to the first substrate; and a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, and includes pixels arranged in a matrix pattern. The pixels each include a reflective region in which display is provided in a reflective mode and a transmissive region in which display is provided in a transmissive mode. At least one of the pixels further includes a light blocking region inside the transmissive region. The second substrate includes a second substrate side insulating layer and a color filter layer sequentially toward the liquid crystal layer. The second substrate side insulating layer is placed in the reflective region and the light blocking region. A film thickness of the color filter layer in the transmissive region is greater than a film thickness of the color filter layer in the reflective region.

The second lead wire extends to cross a portion of, the spacer wall, away from the protruding portions.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display panel includes an active matrix substrate including a gate layer including gate lines, a source layer including source lines, and an alignment film covering the gate layer and the source layer, a color filter substrate, placed opposite the active matrix substrate, that includes a black matrix including, in planar view, first portions separately overlapping each of the source lines and second portions crossing the first portions and separately overlapping each of the gate lines and spacers disposed in cross regions in which the first portions and the second portions cross each other, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the active matrix substrate and the color filter substrate. The active matrix substrate further includes bank portions provided in positions surrounding the spacers within regions overlapping the cross regions in planar view.
