A therapy device includes a chair, a helmet, and a number of programmable relaxing processes carried out on a passive user. Devices, systems and methods are provided for treating migraine headaches and other conditions by non-invasive electrical stimulation of nerves and other tissue. A hand-held device includes a housing with a controller having a signal generator, an electrode for delivering electrical signals, and a conductive surface configured as a return path for the electrical signals. In certain implementations, the electrode is repositionable with respect to the housing. The patient can self-apply the hand-held device by pressing it against areas in need of pain relief. The device may include a pressure-sensitive gating switch to control delivery of the stimulation therapy. In certain embodiments, the electrode is a rollerball electrode. The device may include a chamber for retaining and dispensing conductive gel to the therapy site. In certain approaches, the device includes an electrode support for coupling an electrical stimulation system to the head for hands-free electrical stimulation therapy.

A patient seeking complementary and alternative medicine must visit a practitioner which is not always convenient or possible. It would be beneficial to provide a patient with a simple means of deriving benefit from such physical CAM techniques in a non-intimidating manner whereby the means has familiarity associated with it. Even with conventional medicine children, infants, toddlers, and babies require medical treatment and experience fear and/or anxiety arising from visiting the medical practitioner or with the treatment. According to embodiments of the invention provide patients are provided means to exploit CAM techniques away from the practitioner or allow patients to not associate activities with a medical treatment but another activity, such as playing in the instance of a child. Variations of the means allow medical monitoring activities to be similarly associated with familiar objects and non-traumatic activities.

The motor is activated when both switches are on.

Abstract:
There is provided a resistive actuation unit for activating a tub system an operation of which is controlled by a controller. The actuation unit comprises at least one switching device coupled to a body of the tub and in communication with the controller. The switching device comprises a first and a second resistive element, each of which having a resistive value, which changes upon a contact being made on the resistive element. The controller detects a change in resistive value of at least one of the first and the second resistive element. If the controller detects a change in the resistive value of the first resistive element only, the selected function of the tub system is activated. Otherwise, the controller determines that water contacted the second resistive element and the selected function is not activated.
