Abstract: Described herein are various embodiments of differential air pressure systems and methods of using and calibration such systems for individuals with impaired mobility. The differential air pressure systems may include an access assist device configured to help a mobility impaired user to stand in a pressure chamber configured to apply a positive pressure on a portion of the user's body in the sealed pressure chamber. The system may also include load sensors configured to measure the user's weight exerted inside and outside the chamber. The system may be calibrated by determining a relationship between the actual weight of the user and the pressure in the chamber, where the actual weight of the user may be measured by more than one load sensor and at least one load sensor is not in the pressure chamber.

Abstract: An adaptive assistive and/or rehabilitative device may be configurable for use with another assistive device, such as a wearable assistive device. When the wearable assistive device is a robotic device such as an exoskeleton, the adaptive assistive and/or rehabilitative device may be transformed into a first configuration for charging or storing the exoskeleton, a second configuration for transport of the exoskeleton, a third configuration for assistance in donning of the exoskeleton by a user, and a fourth configuration for assisting the user while standing or walking with the exoskeleton.

Abstract: A stool is provided that provides a raised heel squat position to a user that engages the stool. The raised heel squatting position promotes a healthy and productive experience on a toilet. The stool may be collapsible for easier storage and transportation. The stool may be adjustable to provide custom fittings to different size users. Abstract: A collapsible upright wheeled walker with adjustable armrests that support sufficient user upper-body weight to facilitate a natural upright gait and provide unassisted mobility for a wide range of mobility-impaired individuals. The apparatus may be easily and quickly folded (and unfolded) and may include bilateral stabilizing wheel suspensions to facilitate navigation over uneven terrain. The apparatus includes a frame-stiffening folder assembly and may also include mechanical brakes, an adjustable upper armrest assembly with removable padded forearm supports and two pairs of handles, at least one of which is disposed sufficiently forward to place the user within the polygonal footprint defined by the front and rear wheels to provide support without leaning, stooping, or risking falls.

Abstract: A seat device is provided, comprising: a frame, a seat platform which is hinged to the frame so as to be pivotable between a completely folded position and a completely unfolded position, in which a user is allowed to seat thereon, and a spring mechanism with a variable overall spring constant, via which the seat platform is connected to the frame in a manner so as to be biased towards its folded position, thereby reducing an effort required by the user, who seats on the seat platform, for standing up therefrom, wherein the spring mechanism comprises a plurality of spring devices, each of which has an at least substantially constant spring characteristic which is at least substantially defined by a corresponding spring constant, and which are connected to each other in series, wherein the spring mechanism is provided such that, when the seat platform is at least substantially in its completely folded position, the variable overall spring constant is lower than in the case when the seat platform is at least substantially in its completely unfolded position, and wherein, when the seat platform is in its completely unfolded position, the overall spring constant is defined by the spring constants of only a fraction of the plurality of spring devices.
