Abstract: A magnetic conveyance system comprising a support structure having a ferromagnetic capacity and a trolley moveable upon the support structure in a plurality of directions. The trolley may include a trolley frame and at least one attractor cell disposed on the trolley frame. The at least one attractor cell may comprise a housing and at least one magnet, at least one friction reducing load spreading device, and a load transfer member disposed within the housing. The magnet may provide a magnetic attraction force between the trolley and the support structure. The friction reducing load spreading device may comprise a plurality of bearing balls circulating within a reservoir and a channel formed by the load transfer member disposed within the housing. The load transfer member may also include a bearing surface wherein a portion of the plurality of bearing balls is disposed between the bearing surface and the support structure.

Abstract: A patient brace system and method of using the same are disclosed for treatment of lower extremity injuries. Described brace systems include a crutch, at least one crutch sensor, a patient brace, at least one controller, and a rehabilitation application. The crutch sensor(s) measure one or more crutch parameters. The controller(s) are operable to receive and process a signal(s) indicative of the crutch parameter(s) and produces patient gait data that, in turn, is communicated to a data hub. In some embodiments, the patient brace may also include at least one brace sensor configured to similarly communicate with the data hub. The rehabilitation application is communication with the data hub and determines a response output based on the information fed to the data hub, the application then communicating the response output to at least one of a caregiver, a user of the patient brace, and/or to the patient brace.

Abstract: A method to treat a dry eye condition of an individual, includes: receiving a switch signal generated based on a manipulation of a control switch at a handheld device; and activating a motor in response to the switch signal to oscillate a member at an oscillation frequency, the member having an elongated configuration, and having a portion for placement outside the individual; wherein the oscillation frequency is sufficient to induce tear production when the portion of the member is applied towards a surface of a body portion of the individual.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an assisting device control system capable of appropriately fixing a brace to the body of a wearer. Abstract: A powered orthotic device includes a brace, a finger engagement member, a thumb engagement member, and a hand actuator. The powered orthotic device includes an affixment member affixed to the brace, and a finger carrier assembly with a finger carrier to engage the fingers of the wearer, as well as a locking mechanism configured to be removably attached to the affixment member. The wearer dons the orthotic device, without assistance from another, by placing the set of fingers into the finger carrier and using a free hand of the wearer to affix the locking mechanism to the affixment member.

Abstract: A robot system for active and passive upper limb rehabilitation training based on a force feedback technology includes a robot body and an active and passive training host computer system. Active and passive rehabilitation training may be performed at degrees of freedom such as adduction/abduction and flexion/extension of left and right shoulder joints, and flexion/extension of left and right elbow joints according to a condition of a patient. In a passive rehabilitation training mode, the robot body drives the upper limb of the patient to move according to a track specified by the host computer, to gradually restore a basic motion function of the upper limb. In an active rehabilitation training mode, the patient holds the tail ends of the robot body with both hands to interact with a rehabilitation training scene, and can feel real and accurate force feedback.

Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided a cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR, device (1) for enhancing the delivery of CPR to a patient. According to other aspects, there is provided a control method for a cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR, device and a computer program which, when executed on a computing device, carries out a control method for a cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR, device.
