Abstract:
The present invention provides methods and systems for a reusable water filter cartridge that includes a top portion with a pair of spaced apart bores for receiving an elongate member that is inserted through the bores, and a bottom portion selectively secured to the top portion and including a cavity. A filter element is contained within the cavity.
Abstract:
A method of repeatedly indicating to a user of an appliance that a water filter unit operably connected to the appliance has passed its useful life and a filter unit configure for use in connection with the method where the filter unit includes a fluid flow impeding system within a housing of the filter unit; engaging the filter unit with the appliance; measuring the volume of water treated by the filter unit; activating a fluid flow impeding system contained within the housing of the filter unit; and repeatedly indicating to a user that the maximum volume of water the filter unit has been designed to treat has been surpassed and the filter unit should be replaced by repeatedly delivering a normal flow rate of water from the dispenser of the appliance and thereafter slowing the flow of water from the dispenser of the appliance.
Abstract:
A filter element may include a tubular member, and tubular member may include a partition at least partially defining first and second chambers. The tubular member may further include an end portion at least partially defining an inlet port configured to provide flow communication into the first chamber, and at least partially defining an outlet port configured to provide flow communication from the second chamber. The tubular member may further include a cover portion at the end portion of the tubular member, with the cover portion extending from the partition. The cover portion may be configured to at least partially cover a longitudinal end of the second chamber. The filter element may further include a filter medium associated with at least one outlet aperture and the at least one inlet aperture of the tubular member.
Abstract:
A filter element may include a tubular member including a partition at least partially defining first and second chambers. The partition may be configured to prevent flow communication between the first and second chambers within the tubular member. The tubular member may further include an inlet port configured to provide flow communication into the first chamber, and an outlet port configured to provide flow communication from the second chamber. The tubular member may also include at least one outlet aperture configured to provide flow communication out of the first chamber, and at least one inlet aperture configured to provide flow communication into the second chamber. The filter element may also include a filter medium associated with the at least one outlet and inlet apertures. The filter element may be configured such that fluid passing through the filter element passes through both the first chamber and the second chamber.
Abstract:
Provided is an oil deterioration prevention device with which the trapping effect with respect to oil deteriorated components can be improved and with which the oil passage resistance can be reduced, thereby suppressing a rise in pressure loss. This oil deterioration prevention device is equipped with a filter unit equipped with a filter material that filters oil; and a deterioration prevention unit equipped with a powdery deterioration suppressing agent that suppresses oil deterioration. The deterioration prevention unit contains a mesoporous inorganic material, and of the oil fed from an oil storage unit, the oil filtered by the filter unit is fed to parts which are to be lubricated, and the oil in which deterioration has been suppressed by the deterioration prevention unit is returned to the oil storage unit or is fed to the parts to be lubricated.
Abstract:
The present invention presents a filtration system with an integrated manifold valve. The filtration system employs only one pivotal component—the pivoting of the manifold. The manifold valve includes a dual aperture design for a two-fold alignment scheme with the ingress and egress lines of the fluid source. The invention is free of multi-component rotary valve with internal, rotatable parts, or an activation component, such as a handle, for initiating the rotary valve, allowing the user to rotate the rotational components thereof. The reduction in moveable components in this design reduces the likelihood of failure and increases the reliability of the filtration system.
Abstract:
A filter apparatus is described that has a torque limiting device, which may be a clutch mechanism, and which provides a protective function for a filter, so as to protect a filter from being over tightened and to thereby prevent damage to filter components. The clutch mechanism can also eliminate or reduce the need for torque measurement of certain filter components. The clutch mechanism can be located on one of the fluid filter, a filter head which engages the fluid filter, or a combination of both the fluid filter and the filter head.
Abstract:
A filter for a water cooler includes a housing having a surface and a cavity with cavity ports. The filter end is adapted to be received in the housing. The filter end includes a cylindrical base having a surface and a neck extending from the surface. The neck has filter ports and a side surface. The side surface has oppositely directed axially extending elongated protrusions configured to be received in channels in the housing. The base surface includes a complex set of protrusions which are adapted to be received in a similarly configured set of recesses in the housing surface. The protrusions/recesses may take the form of letters, numbers or symbols. The filter end is be fully seated in the housing in bayonet-type fashion to connect the filter ports and the housing ports o permit water to flow through the filter from the water supply to the water cooler.

Abstract:
A regenerative filter that includes a filter housing having inlet and outlet zones; a fluid path provided between the inlet and outlet zones; a plurality of filter elements each having an outer surface filter media applied thereto and functioning to filter particulate or contaminants from the fluid path. The filter elements are disposed in an monolithic array. An inlet port arrangement is disposed at the filter housing leading to the inlet zone and is constructed and arranged to direct the fluid path into the filter housing in a manner so as to maintain a controlled turbulence at the inlet zone. The inlet port arrangement comprises a pair of inlet ports that are arranged in juxtaposition at the inlet zone and each having one end where the fluid flow enters. Embodiments that are considered as falling under the scope of the present invention include 1. Single inlet/two or more outlets; 2. Two or more inlets/single outlet, or 3. Two or more inlets and two or more outlets.
