Abstract: A method of using a heat generating catalyst in a hydrocarbon cracking process. The method includes providing a catalyst bed reactor which includes a catalyst bed of the heat generating catalyst disposed in the catalyst bed reactor. The heat generating catalyst includes at least one mordenite framework-inverted (MFI) zeolite catalyst having a Si/Al molar ratio of 15 or greater, and at least one metal oxide dispersed within a microstructure of the MFI zeolite catalyst. The method additionally includes introducing a hydrocarbon feed to the catalyst bed reactor and cracking the hydrocarbon feed to produce a cracking product. Additionally, an associated method of making the heat generating catalyst for hydrocarbon cracking is provided.

Abstract: A catalyst can be used to convert an alcohol in a dehydration process into an olefin having the same number of carbon atoms as the alcohol. The catalyst can include a phosphorus modified zeolite made by providing a zeolite with at least one ten member ring in the structure, steaming the zeolite, mixing the zeolite with binders and shaping additives, and shaping the zeolite. An ion-exchange step can be performed, and the shaped catalyst can be steamed. Phosphorus can be introduced on the catalyst at an amount of at least 0.1 wt %, such as by dry impregnation or chemical vapor deposition. A metal can be introduced. The catalyst can be washed and/or calcinated, and steamed in an equilibration step. The steaming severity (X) can be at least about 2. The catalyst can be steamed at a temperature above 625° C., such as a temperature ranging from 700 to 800° C.

Abstract: A catalyst can include a phosphorus modified zeolite having partly an ALPO structure. The ALPO structure can be determined by a signal between 35-45 ppm in 27Al MAS NMR spectrum. The zeolite can include at least one ten member ring in the structure thereof. The catalyst can also include a binder and one or more metal oxides. The catalyst can be used in processes in the presence of steam at high temperatures, such as temperatures that are above 300° C. and up to 800° C. The catalyst can be used in alcohol dehydration, olefin cracking, MTO processes, and alkylation of aromatic compounds with olefins and/or alcohols.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a Cracking Catalyst composition for cracking of heavy hydrocarbon feed stocks and process for preparing the catalyst. The catalyst is prepared by incorporating 1-10 wt % phosphate treated USY zeolite in which phosphate is present in the range of 10 to 50 wt % on the basis of phosphated zeolite, in a mixture of 10-50 wt % dispersible alumina, 0-30 wt % non-dispersal alumina, 5-30 wt % colloidal silica, 15-50 wt % clay and 5-15 wt % phosphate.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a fluid catalytic cracking additive composition for cracking of heavy hydrocarbon feed stocks and process for preparing the additive. The additive is suitable for enhancing yields of light olefins such as propylene, isobutylene, LPG and reduces the bottom yields. The invention specifically relates to a fluid catalytic cracking additive composition comprising a pentasil zeolite, zeolites having pore size in a range of 5.4-7.7 Å, alumina, colloidal silica, kaolin clay, and phosphate, wherein the zeolites having pore size in the range of 5.4-7.7 Å is present in an amount of 1 to 10 wt % with respect to the total amount of the pentasil zeolite and zeolite having the pore size in the range of 5.4-7.7 Å.

Abstract: Accordingly, the present invention provides a catalyst composition suitable for converting light naphtha comprising one or more of C5 to C8 carbon atoms to aromatic compounds ranging from C6 to C10 carbon atoms, said catalyst composition comprising: (a) a medium pore size zeolite; (b) 0.1 to 5.0 wt % of zinc; and (c) 0.1 to 5 wt % of gallium. Also, the present invention provides a process for converting light naphtha comprising one or more of C5 to C8 carbon atoms to aromatic compounds ranging from C6 to C10 carbon atoms, said process comprising the step of contacting a feedstock comprising the light naphtha with a catalyst composition comprising (a) a medium pore size zeolite; (b) 0.1 to 5.0 wt % of zinc; and (c) 0.1 to 5 wt % of gallium in presence of carrier gas at temperatures ranging from 400° to 600° C.
