Abstract: Novel systems and methods for performing treatment (e.g., coloration) of keratinous fibers are disclosed. The methods and systems utilize one or more of a dispensing device which is configured to provide customized composition for treating keratinous fibers (e.g., a coloring composition), optionally formed from tablets; an optical reader, for obtaining sufficient characteristics of the keratinous fibers to make a realistic prediction of the outcome of a treatment (e.g., coloring treatment); a computational units for predicting an outcome of a treatment, optionally being interfaced with the dispensing device and for selecting a customized treatment; and tablet formulations which are useful in preparing customized composition for treating keratinous fibers. Further disclosed are rapidly disintegrating tablets for use in the preparation of compositions for treating keratinous fibers.

Abstract: An apparatus for photometric measurement of biological liquids and a method of simultaneously measuring the presence or quantity of an analyte in a sample region are disclosed. The apparatus includes a plurality of spaced apart sample regions; a light source adapted to emit light including at least one frequency; a lens system including a light coupling system, wherein the light coupling system is disposed between the light source and the plurality of sample regions. Abstract: A gas detector (10) that is arranged to sense the concentration levels of target gases oxygen, methane, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulphide, within a gas sample from an environment surrounding the detector. The gas detector (10) comprises laser sources (12a-12d) that are arranged to transmit radiation through the gas sample at four target wavelengths that correspond approximately to the optimum absorption wavelengths of each of the target gases and an optical detector (16) that is arranged to sense the intensity of the radiation transmitted through the gas sample at each of the target wavelengths. Abstract: An imaging device for biochemical or medical samples, the pulse mode light source of which incorporates flash lamps and a rotating mirror in an inclined position, the said mirror reflecting the light emitted by each flash lamp in turn along the same optical path to the sample. The flash lamps are switched on alternately in phases and synchronised with the rotating mirror and the emission light chopper, which comprises two rotating discs. Abstract: Implementations disclosed describe, among other things, a system and a method of using a wafer inspection system that includes a plurality of inspection heads configured to concurrently inspect a separate region of a plurality of regions of a wafer. Each inspection head includes an illumination subsystem to illuminate a corresponding region of the wafer, a collection subsystem to collect a portion of light reflected/scattered from the corresponding region of the wafer. Each inspection head further includes a light detection subsystem to detect the collected light and generate one or more signals representative of a state of the corresponding region of the wafer. The wafer inspection system further includes a processing device configured to determine, using the one or more signals received from each of the inspection heads, the quality of the wafer.
