Abstract:
To reduce workload on an Internet facsimile machine on the transmission side, and to execute a retransmission processing promptly and reliably, an electronic mail server device includes a function for receiving an electronic mail, a function for transmitting the received electronic mail to the Internet facsimile machine of a destination via the Internet, and a function for carrying out a facsimile transmission of the image data via a public telephone network. The electronic mail server device also includes a RAM which stores an address/number corresponding table which corresponds the electronic mail address and the facsimile number of the Internet facsimile machine of the destination. When receiving the electronic mail including the image data, and failing to transmit the electronic mail including the image data to the Internet facsimile machine of the destination, a main control unit carries out a facsimile transmission of the image data of the electronic mail to the Internet facsimile machine of the destination via the public telephone network in accordance with the facsimile number corresponding to the electronic mail address of the Internet facsimile machine of the destination.
Abstract:
A communication control method of an Internet facsimile may provide transmitting and receiving document information via the Internet and transmitting and receiving facsimile image information via a public switched telephone network. The method may include receiving a relay result returned from a relay broadcast distribution station in the form of an electronic mail if a transmission error occurs in transmitting information from the Internet facsimile to a destination via the Internet. Based on the received relay result, a communication management report may be prepared that indicates the occurrence of the error if the error occurs. An image corresponding to the information may be attached to the report. The report may be output in the form of an electronic mail. An Internet facsimile may include a communication section, a communication management report preparation section, an image attaching section, and a communication management report output section, which carry out such a method.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an Internet FAX apparatus which, after receiving an Internet address from a certain destination, can communicate with the same destination in later transmission or during communication by connecting to a LAN and switching to an Internet FAX mode requiring no communication charge. An Internet facsimile apparatus on the receiving side transmits its Internet facsimile function and Internet address on an NSF signal in a standard protocol of G3 facsimile transmission and/or transmits its telephone number, Internet facsimile function, and Internet address on TSI and NSS signals in the standard protocol of G3 facsimile communication. The Internet facsimile apparatus registers an Internet facsimile function and Internet address of a partner apparatus as destination data. The Internet facsimile apparatus communicates with the partner apparatus by using the Internet address in the destination data in later transmission or by disconnecting ordinary facsimile mode communication and switching to the Internet FAX mode.
Abstract:
An internet facsimile communication system capable, in the internet facsimile based on the Recommendation T.38, of receiving an incoming call for a facsimile communication regardless of the setting of receiving mode in the facsimile apparatus thereby avoiding a drawback that a person responds to a facsimile communication. The internet facsimile communication system comprises an adaptor for connection with an IP network and a G3 facsimile apparatus, in which the adaptor changes the format of a call signal for calling the G3 facsimile apparatus, between an incoming call for a facsimile communication and other incoming call, thereby informing the G3 facsimile apparatus of an incoming call for the facsimile communication.
Abstract:
An electronic-mail apparatus comprises an acceptor that accepts an electronic-mail, an electronic-mail transmitter that transmits the accepted electronic-mail to a designated electronic mail destination address, and an operational panel that includes a start member that starts a transmission of an electronic-mail to a destination address. The operational panel designates an electronic mail destination address, and further designates an alternative destination address, to be used in case of a transmission completion failure, to which a message indicating a failure in completion of a started transmission of an electronic-mail is sent when the transmission of an electronic-mail started by the start member is not completed. The message provides an indication, at the alternative destination address, of a transmission completion failure during transmission of an electronic-mail.
Abstract:
A facsimile device for transmitting image data, using a computer communication network such as the Internet. A transmitting side facsimile device FAX1a determines whether the Internet NTW or the public switched telephone network PSTN is used, by confirming whether information showing to use NTW is attached to the facsimile number of the destination facsimile device FAX2. If NTW is used, image data is transmitted to the gateway device GTW1 and the facsimile number of FAX2. Users can easily select a requested communication network. FAX1a discriminates the beginning number attached in the beginning of the destination number input by users and confirms whether the internal network K, PSTN or NTW is used in sending image data. If NTW is used, the IP address of the nearest gateway device GTW in FAX2 is acquired and image data and the destination number is transmitted by designating the IP address as a destination.
Abstract:
The present invention selects a channel to be used in facsimile-transmitting image information included in e-mail subjected to relay request in accordance with channel selection information included in said e-mail.
Abstract:
A communication terminal device that transmits electronic mail through a network by a mail system thereon, is provided in which the communication terminal device receives delivery confirmation mail from the mail system when an electronic mail transmission by the mail system was successful, and error mail from the mail system when the electronic mail transmission was failed. When the communication terminal device has received the delivery confirmation mail or the error mail, it stores a result of the electronic mail transmission including in its memory.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus is connected to a terminal apparatus via a network. The communication apparatus includes a detector that detects at least a part of the communication apparatus to obtain status information regarding the detected pair of the communication apparatus. A memory configured to store a homepage generated by a HTML file, the homepage including function information which indicates at least one function provided in the communication apparatus, and status information which indicates the detected status of a part of the communication apparatus. The detector generates a latest status information to be stored in the memory when a change in the status of the part of the communication apparatus occurs. A communicator is configured to transmit the homepage to the terminal apparatus when a request for the homepage is received from the terminal apparatus. The homepage is displayable at the terminal apparatus and simultaneously displays the communication which is further configured to transmit only the latest status information to update the status information of the homepage, when a request for only the status information is received from the terminal apparatus.
Abstract:
The network facsimile apparatus switches a status icon registered in a structured document for displaying a status icon, corresponding to a status change, while transmitting the structured document corresponding to a request from a client. Thus the apparatus enables the client to observe the latest status icon in homepage format.
