A communication apparatus that enables a device on a searching side to obtain a single search result, thereby reducing user confusion, even when the same search packet is received by network interfaces of the apparatus. The communication apparatus of a device on a searched side receives a search packet via one of a first and second NIC of the apparatus from a device on the searching side, and determines whether information that is same as information indicating the received search packet is stored. If the information is stored, one of the NICs to be used to respond to the search packet is selected, a response message is created, and the created response message is transmitted via the selected NIC to the device on the searching side. And if the information is not stored, the information indicating the search packet is stored.

An image processing system comprises a portable terminal and multiple image processing apparatuses. The portable terminal comprises: a determining portion which determines a target identification operation proving the identify of a target image processing apparatus; a display which displays information about the target identification operation; and an instructing portion which instructs the multiple image processing apparatuses to return answer information. The multiple image processing apparatuses each comprises: a detector which detects that the operation corresponding to the target identification operation has been performed; and a transmitter which transmits to the portable terminal, the answer information and apparatus information. Then the portable terminal further comprises: a receiver which receives the answer information and the apparatus information; and an identifying portion which identifies the target image processing apparatus based on the answer information and the apparatus information.

To provide an image processing system, an image processing apparatus, and an image processing method capable of realizing the optimum color matching between apparatuses according to various situations (the use case or the type of image) in printing one job in a plurality of image forming apparatuses. In the present invention, MFP101 acquires a color reproduction range for each of MFP102 and LBP103 (Step S903), and computes logical AND of the plurality of acquired color reproduction ranges (Step S904). Next, in accordance with the use case and the attribute of an image, MFP101 determines whether the color reproduction range in printing the image is set to the logical AND of the color reproduction ranges or to an expanded area of the logical AND of the color reproduction ranges (steps S905 to S908). Then, MFP101 adds the determined color reproduction range to the image and transmits this to MFP102, LBP103 (S909).
