Abstract: An example assistive ambulation system is described herein. The system includes a walker including a base frame, a walker frame attached to the base frame, a plurality of rolling members attached to the base frame, and a hoist attached to the walker. The base frame includes a pair of support members and a base cross member. Each of the support members extends between forward and rearward ends of the walker. Additionally, the pair of support members are spaced apart and substantially parallel to one another. The base cross member extends transversely between the pair of support members. The walker frame includes a pair of bent posts and a walker cross member. Each of the bent posts extends upward from the base frame. Additionally, the pair of bent posts are spaced apart and substantially parallel to one another. The walker cross member extends transversely between the pair of bent posts.

Abstract: A powered orthotic device includes a brace, a finger engagement member, a thumb engagement member, and a hand actuator. The powered orthotic device includes an affixment member affixed to the brace, and a finger carrier assembly with a finger carrier to engage the fingers of the wearer, as well as a locking mechanism configured to be removably attached to the affixment member. The wearer dons the orthotic device, without assistance from another, by placing the set of fingers into the finger carrier and using a free hand of the wearer to affix the locking mechanism to the affixment member.

Abstract: A robot system for active and passive upper limb rehabilitation training based on a force feedback technology includes a robot body and an active and passive training host computer system. Active and passive rehabilitation training may be performed at degrees of freedom such as adduction/abduction and flexion/extension of left and right shoulder joints, and flexion/extension of left and right elbow joints according to a condition of a patient. In a passive rehabilitation training mode, the robot body drives the upper limb of the patient to move according to a track specified by the host computer, to gradually restore a basic motion function of the upper limb. In an active rehabilitation training mode, the patient holds the tail ends of the robot body with both hands to interact with a rehabilitation training scene, and can feel real and accurate force feedback.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an assisted rehabilitation system comprising a device with static-bicycle movement, and devices that automatically sense and manipulate body performance parameters, allowing the rehabilitation response process of a user to be optimised. In particular, the sensing devices measure the pedalling rate, the pedalling resistance and the user's pulse rate, allowing the optimum exercising range to be configured, depending on the data acquired from the patient and on the level of effort required from him or her. The system also comprises two motors. One motor drives a flywheel that allows the user to experience a variation in the pedalling rate while using the device. A second motor provides different levels of pedalling resistance, allowing muscular strength to be developed. When starting the activity, the user enters, on a touchscreen, the preliminary parameters for the desired pedalling rate and resistance level, which are analysed by a processing unit that calculates a suitable rehabilitation plan.

Abstract: A therapeutic apparel article is configured with a supple wearable fabric article that can be configured over limb or nub of an amputated limb. The therapeutic apparel article is configured with a plurality of nodes for detachably attaching vibrating devices thereto. In addition, a control unit having a power source may be detachably attached to the wearable fabric article. A conductive network may extend from the control unit and/or the power source to provide electrical power to the nodes and the vibrating devices attached. A user may attach vibrating devices to various nodes of the wearable fabric article as desired. In addition, the vibrating devices and the control unit can be detached from the wearable fabric article to enable the wearable fabric article to be washed.

Abstract: A single-lower-limb rehabilitation exoskeleton apparatus and control methods includes a controller, an intact lower-limb component and a paretic lower-limb component connecting communicatively with the controller. The controller is used to determine the current state of the intact lower-limb through the intact lower-limb component and the current state of the paretic lower-limb through the paretic lower-limb component. When the intact lower-limb component is in the lifting state, the movement data of the intact lower-limb is collected and sent to the controller. The controller is used to determine the corresponding gait data for the paretic lower-limb component according to the movement data of the intact lower-limb and send the gait data to the paretic lower-limb component. The paretic lower-limb component is used to drive the paretic lower-limb to move or walk according to the gait data while the intact lower-limb is in the supporting state.
