Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a cloud-assisted rehabilitation system for assisting in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions, and a method for rehabilitating patients having musculoskeletal conditions. A rehabilitation portal can aggregate and de-identified musculoskeletal rehabilitation information that is gathered from various intelligent musculoskeletal rehabilitation apparatuses attached to a group of patients. The rehabilitation portal can facilitate crowd communication among the group of patients. A particular rehabilitation experience can be compared with other rehabilitation experiences and data from other patients. The rehabilitation portal can also facilitate crowd communication among a group of healthcare professionals so that the plurality of healthcare professionals can communicate with each other and compare information regarding different rehabilitation experiences based at least on the aggregated de-identified musculoskeletal rehabilitation information.

Abstract: A pivoting lower limb therapy device formed from a lever frame having a handle portion integral with its proximal end and a first orthotic portion adjacent to its distal end, a base frame having a second orthotic portion integral with its proximal frame end and a surface support portion integral with its distal frame end, with the lever frame rotatably attached to the base frame so as to permit the first orthotic portion to move across two dimensions relative to the second orthotic portion in response to an exertion of mechanical force on the handle portion. The pivoting lower limb therapy device may also include a strap assembly connected to and extending between the proximal end of the lever frame and the proximal frame end of the base frame so as to exert mechanical force on the two frame members.

Abstract: A massage device for a person's appendage includes a plurality of enclosures each comprising an outer surface and a hollow interior space having a control circuit, a power source such as a rechargeable battery, a vibration mechanism, and preferably at least one motor and a gear arrangement. Each enclosure includes at least one roller driven by the gear arrangement and the at least one motor. A plurality of connectors are each fixed between two adjacent enclosures to form a ring with the enclosures and the connectors. The connectors are adapted to contract or expand such that with the person's appendage fitted through the ring, the connectors are retracted until the rollers each contact the person's appendage to move the device along or about the person's appendage while the vibration mechanism massages the person's appendage.

Abstract: A single-lower-limb rehabilitation exoskeleton apparatus and control methods includes a controller, an intact lower-limb component and a paretic lower-limb component connecting communicatively with the controller. The controller is used to determine the current state of the intact lower-limb through the intact lower-limb component and the current state of the paretic lower-limb through the paretic lower-limb component. When the intact lower-limb component is in the lifting state, the movement data of the intact lower-limb is collected and sent to the controller. The controller is used to determine the corresponding gait data for the paretic lower-limb component according to the movement data of the intact lower-limb and send the gait data to the paretic lower-limb component. The paretic lower-limb component is used to drive the paretic lower-limb to move or walk according to the gait data while the intact lower-limb is in the supporting state.

The system has a table configured to hold a patient and a vibrational footplate extending outwardly from a foot of the table. An actuator is configured and disposed to adjust an inclination of the table to provide varying degrees of whole body vibration therapy to the patient. Abstract: A portable stretching apparatus includes a central support frame. The frame defines a top and legs extending from the top towards a relatively wider base. The legs form part of the sides of the frame. A seat is fixed on the top of the support frame. Hand grips are provided on either side of the seat. First and second support arms are pivotally mounted to opposite sides of the top of the central support frame. The first arm can be fixed in several angular orientations. The angular position of the second arm is substantially continuously variable. A control moves the angular position of the second arm while a person is on the apparatus. A restraint locks or restrains the person's foot or leg on at least one side of the frame.
