Abstract:
The present invention relates to a panel composite sheet, comprising a sheet of solid surface material having a top surface and a bottom surface, a core sheet of material having a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein the top surface of the sheet of solid surface material is bonded to the bottom surface of the core sheet of material. The present invention further comprises bonding the top surface of the sheet of solid surface material with the bottom surface of the core sheet. The present invention also relates to a method for forming a panel composite sheet.
Abstract:
A process for producing adhesive tapes in which an adhesive tape coated with an adhesive is subjected to radiation-chemical crosslinking, especially electron beam crosslinking, irradiation taking place from the side coated with pressure-sensitive adhesive, the acceleration voltage during irradiation being chosen so that the amount of the drop in dose between the adhesive surface facing the radiation source and the surface turned away from it is greater than 40% of the level of dose irradiated on the adhesive surface facing the radiation source.
Abstract:
A method for coating includes applying an adhesive to a surface, wherein the surface comprises an arrangement of structures thereon, wherein the structures extend upward from a plane of the surface and have at least one sidewall that makes an angle with respect to the plane of the surface of greater than 0null and less than 90null selected to reduce air bubble formation for a coating solution of a selected rheology.
Abstract:
A process for irradiating material in web form by means of electron beams and/or UV rays, wherein the material is applied to a transport means, the material on the transport means is guided through a first irradiation in which the material is irradiated in the open side, the material is transferred from the transport means to a substrate, and the material on the substrate is guided through a second irradiation in which the material is irradiated on the second, hitherto unirradiated, open side.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus apply a lacquer layer to the upper side of a printed medium (i.e. a printed sheet). The method and apparatus form a film of lacquer, in particular a UV lacquer film. Next, the lacquer film is dried or hardened under the action of heat and/or UV radiation. Next, the dried/hardened lacquer film is transferred to the (fresh or still wet) printed upper side of the printed medium, with simultaneous permanent adhesion of the film to this upper side.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of a polyolefinic film, with at least one layer, which is made from polyolefinic polymers, whereby said polyolefinic film comprises a bonding layer as outer layer. Said bonding layer contains at least 50 wt. % based on the weight of the layer of a maleic anhydride modified polyolefin. The film is used for printing, metallising or coating.
Abstract:
The surface-modified pressure-sensitive adhesive has a surface-modifying layer made of another polymer and physically fixed to a surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive; and the method of modifying a surface of a pressure-sensitive adhesive includes the following steps (A) to (C): step (A): forming a surface-modifying layer made of another polymer on the surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive without physically fixing the layer to the surface, step (B): causing molecules of the polymer constituting the surface-modifying layer to diffuse from the pressure-sensitive adhesive surface into inner parts of the adhesive, and step (C): crosslinking the pressure-sensitive adhesive while keeping the molecular chains of the polymer constituting the surface-modifying layer in the state of being partly embedded in the pressure-sensitive adhesive to thereby physically fix the surface-modifying layer to the surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive.
Abstract:
A right-angle gluer for applying a transverse bead of an adhesive to a blank being conveyed in a machine direction orthogonal to the transverse direction of glue application. The right-angle gluer includes a coating head operable for applying the transverse adhesive bead and a pivotal mounting assembly that permits adjustment of the positioning and orientation of the coating head relative to the machine direction. The right angle gluer further includes a backup plate positioned upstream of the coating head that reduces or prevents buckling of the conveyed blanks.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a adhesive article comprising at least one backing layer with a first and second surface and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer adhered first surface of the backing layer in a pattern, wherein the pattern of the adhesive layer has an adhesive free area of less than about 25% and wherein the adhesive article has a water vapor transmission rate of greater than about 2000 g/m2/24 hour. The invention also relates to a method of forming an adhesive article comprising (a) providing a release liner, (b) applying pressure sensitive adhesive in a pattern wherein the free adhesive area is less than 25%, and (c) applying a backing layer to the pressure sensitive adhesive. The present invention provides pattern coated adhesive bandages that strongly adhere to human skin while permitting water vapor transmission there through. Accordingly the present invention also provides methods of facilitating the healing of wounds using the pattern coated adhesive bandage. High breathability, as measured by moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR), is desirable features of an adhesive bandage in order to prevent maceration of the skin due to trapped moisture, and to enhance comfort during wear of the bandage by the end user.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a process for producing a mixture for asphalt pavement, wherein aggregates, filler and asphalt are mixed by means of a mixer, the aggregates being fed to the mixer fundamentally without being preheated, the asphalt being an aqueous asphalt dispersion comprising asphalt and poval, and an apparatus for producing said mixture and a method of paving using said mixture to thereby reduce equipment cost, restrain the generation of carbon dioxide to a environmental friendliness, cut down energy costs and make recycled aggregates reusable.
