Abstract: A coating composition for pattern inversion that fills a gap in an organic underlayer film pattern formed on a substrate to be processed by transferring a resist pattern to an underlayer and forms a flat polysiloxane film, the coating composition including a polysiloxane obtained by a reaction of an alcohol with a silanol group in a hydrolysis-condensate of a hydrolysable silane having a hydrolysable silane containing in the molecule four hydrolysable groups, in a ratio of 50% by mole to 100% by mole relative to the total amount of silanes. The hydrolysable silane is represented by Formula (1):
R1aSi(R2)4-a Formula (1)
and contains 50% by mole to 100% by mole of a hydrolysable silane in which a is 0 and 0% by mole to 50% by mole of a hydrolysable silane in which a is 1 or 2. The alcohol is propylene glycol monomethyl ether, propylene glycol monoethyl ether, or 3-methoxybutanol.-

Abstract: A laminated film has a resin layer on at least one surface of a polyester film, in which the resin layer is on at least one surface layer, the water contact angle of the resin layer is 85°-100°, inclusive, and |H2-H1|≤1.0 (%) is satisfied, H1 (%) being the haze of the laminated film and H2 (%) being the haze of the laminated film after being immersed in a solvent and subjected to a rub test. This laminated film has excellent coating and releasability properties with respect to ceramic slurry.

Abstract: A method for making a recording sheet is provided, the recording sheet comprising a sizing or coating composition, which comprises a first binder resin, which is compatible with dry toner binder resin; a second binder resin, which is compatible with liquid toner binder resin; a first pigment, which has a BET surface area of from greater than zero to about 35 m2/g or greater; a second pigment, which has a BET surface area of from greater than zero to about 35 m2/g or greater, and which is different from the first pigment; and a paper or plastic substrate in contact with the composition, wherein the sizing or coating composition is comprised within first and second sublayers, and said method for making the recording sheet comprising contacting, in any order: the first binder resin; the second binder resin; the first pigment; the second pigment; or a mixture thereof, and the paper or plastic substrate, to produce the recording sheet.

The laminated film includes a functional layer laminate having an optically functional layer and a gas barrier layer laminated on at least one main surface of the optically functional layer and an end face sealing layer formed by covering at least a portion of the end face of the functional layer laminate, and the end face sealing layer has an oxygen permeability of equal to or lower than 10 cc/(m2·day·atm).

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a composite film, the method including: a coating step including coating a coating liquid containing a resin on one surface or both surfaces of a porous substrate to form a coating layer; a solidification step including solidifying the resin by bringing the coating layer into contact with a solidifying liquid to obtain a composite film including the porous substrate and a porous layer that is formed on one surface or both surfaces of the porous substrate and that includes the resin; a water washing step including washing the composite film with water; and a drying step including drying by removing water from the composite film while transporting the composite film at a transport speed of 30 m/min or more using a drying apparatus including a drying device including a contact type heating device and a hot air blowing device, wherein the composite film is brought into contact with a contact type heating device as well as exposed to hot air blown from a hot air blowing device, to remove water from the composite film being performed by bringing.

Abstract: A release film is provided for supporting an ultrathin ceramic green sheet having a thickness of 0.5 to 1.0 μm, and the release film due to containing modified organic particles and an antistatic agent has a slippery releasing surface with a low friction coefficient and hence excellent coatability and releasing properties; resulted in that when the release film is rolled up, the rolled surfaces do not adhere to each other, and when the ultrathin ceramic green sheet is peeled off from the release film, the ultrathin ceramic green sheet due to a relatively small electrostatic force being generated is without breaking; so that the release film contributes to increasing the yield of ultrathin ceramic green sheet.

Abstract: Methods of protecting a substrate from light-induced degradation are described. The methods comprise providing a substrate and disposing onto the substrate a plurality of layers deposited by layer-by-layer self-assembly. At least a portion of the layers comprise an organic light absorbing compound, an organic light stabilizing compound, or a combination thereof dispersed within a polyelectrolyte. Also described are articles comprising a substrate and a plurality of layers deposited by layer-by-layer self-assembly wherein at least a portion of the layers comprise an organic light absorbing compound, an organic light stabilizing compound, or a combination thereof dispersed within a polyelectrolyte. Random copolymers suitable for use in the method and articles are also described.

Abstract: A balloon coating method is disclosed, which includes an application step in which, where a flexible dispensing tube for supplying a coating solution containing the water-insoluble drug and a solvent is formed at its end portion with an opening portion for discharging the coating solution therethrough and when the opening portion-formed end portion side of the dispensing tube is kept in contact with the outer surface of the balloon in such a manner as to be oriented in a direction opposite to a rotating direction of the balloon while the balloon is rotated about an axis of the balloon, the coating solution is discharged through the opening portion and applied to the outer surface of the balloon while the dispensing tube is moved relative to the balloon in an axial direction X of the balloon.
