Abstract: A method for generating a dynamic control point for generating an optimized curve includes determining, at a processor(s), an initial curve. A control point sampling interval and a condition are set by the processor(s). Multiple static control points are determined. The static control points are sampled based on the control point sampling interval. A sampled static control point is selected from the plurality of static control points based on the sampled static control point satisfying the condition. The sampled static control point is stored in a set of filtered control points. The set of filtered control points is sampled. A sampled filtered control point is selected based on the control point sampling interval. A dynamic control point is generated based on the sampled filtered control point.

The replaceable winding (101) further comprises an aperture (119) through the body (107), between the opposing surfaces, the aperture (119) having generally parallel internal sides about perpendicular to the opposing surfaces of the body (107), the aperture (119) configured to removably received a pole portion (109) of the electromagnetic machine (100). The replaceable winding (101) further comprises electrical conductors wound about the aperture (119) in the body (107). The replaceable winding (101) further comprises electrical connectors (123) at one or more external sides of the body (107), the electrical connectors (123) connected to the electrical conductors.

Abstract: A system (100), electromagnetic actuator (102) and track (101) for braking are provided. The actuator (102) includes pole portions (109) extending from back-iron portions. Respective longitudinal axes (104) of the pole portions (109) are arranged about parallel to one another and about perpendicular to a common movement axis (104). A pole pitch of the pole portions (109) is selected to induce eddy currents in a segmented track (101), such that the eddy currents are present in a skin depth at more than one surface of segments (105) of the segmented track (101) when the pole portions (109) are moving at given speeds. Eddy current generated losses occupy about an entirety of a volume of a segment (105) of the track (101) below a given intermediate speed, and the eddy current generated losses occupy at least one third of the volume of the segment (105) at a given maximum speed greater than the given intermediate speed. Individually controllable electrical windings are around respective pole portions (109).

Abstract: A system and method for guidance control on a wheeled bogie is disclosed herein. An electromagnetic engine may be coupled to the wheeled bogie such that the electromagnetic engine may generate magnetically attractive forces between the electromagnetic engine and the rail. The generated force may be used to increase traction for braking and climbing operations. Further, the generated force may be used to counteract hunting oscillation. Still further, the generated force may be used to counteract lift generated by the wheeled bogie operating in a turn with cant.
