Abstract: Described is a selective catalytic reduction material comprising a spherical particle including an agglomeration of crystals of a molecular sieve. The catalyst is a crystalline material that is effective to catalyze the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in the presence of a reductant at temperatures between 200° C. and 600° C. A method for selectively reducing nitrogen oxides and an exhaust gas treatment system are also described.

Abstract: Zeolite catalysts and systems and methods for preparing and using zeolite catalysts having the CHA crystal structure are disclosed. The catalysts can be used to remove nitrogen oxides from a gaseous medium across a broad temperature range and exhibit hydrothermal stable at high reaction temperatures. The zeolite catalysts include a zeolite carrier having a silica to alumina ratio from about 15:1 to about 256:1 and a copper to alumina ratio from about 0.25:1 to about 1:1.

Abstract: The invention provides a method of synthesizing a zeolite having the CHA crystalline framework, the method including forming a reaction mixture comprising an alumina source comprising a zeolite having an FAU crystalline framework, a silica source, and an organic structure directing agent, the reaction mixture—having a combined molar ratio of M/Si+R/Si higher than the molar ratio OH/Si, wherein M is moles of alkali metal and R is moles of organic structure directing agent; and crystallizing the reaction mixture to form a product zeolite having the CHA crystalline framework, wherein the product zeolite has a mesopore surface area (MSA) of less than about 25 m2/g. The invention also includes catalyst articles made using the product zeolite, exhaust gas treatment systems including the catalyst articles, and methods of treating exhaust gas using the catalyst articles.

Abstract: A process for preparing a zeolitic material comprising a metal M, having framework type AEI, and having a framework structure which comprises a tetravalent element Y, a trivalent element X, and oxygen, said process comprising (i) providing a zeolitic material comprising the metal M, having a framework type other than AEI, and having a framework structure comprising the trivalent element X, and oxygen; (ii) preparing a synthesis mixture comprising the zeolitic material provided in (i), water, a source of the tetravalent element Y, and an AEI framework structure directing agent; (iii) subjecting the synthesis mixture prepared in (ii) to hydrothermal synthesis conditions comprising heating the synthesis mixture to a temperature in the range of from 100 to 200° C. and keeping the synthesis mixture at a temperature in this range under autogenous pressure, obtaining the zeolitic material having framework type AEI; wherein Y is one or more of Si, Ge, Sn, Ti, Zr; wherein X is one or more of Al, B, Ga, In; wherein M is a transition metal of groups 7 to 12 of the periodic table of elements.

Abstract: Described is a selective catalytic reduction catalyst comprising a zeolitic framework material of silicon and aluminum atoms, wherein a fraction of the silicon atoms are isomorphously substituted with a tetravalent metal. The catalyst can include a promoter metal such that the catalyst effectively promotes the reaction of ammonia with nitrogen oxides to form nitrogen and H2O selectively over a temperature range of 150 to 650° C. In another aspect, described is a selective catalytic reduction composite comprising an SCR catalyst material and an ammonia storage material comprising a transition metal having an oxidation state of IV. The SCR catalyst material promotes the reaction of ammonia with nitrogen oxides to form nitrogen and H2O selectively over a temperature range of 150° C. to 600° C., and the SCR catalyst material is effective to store ammonia at temperatures of 400° C. and above. A method for selectively reducing nitrogen oxides, and a method for simultaneously selectively reducing nitrogen oxide and storing ammonia are also described. Additionally, an exhaust gas treatment system is also described.
