Abstract: An electrical connector used for connecting an chip module to a printed circuit board includes an insulating housing, a number of terminals and a cover. The insulating housing includes a body portion. The terminals are insert molded in the body portion. The body portion includes an upper face and a lower face. Each of the terminals includes a first soldering portion extending upwardly beyond the upper face and a second soldering portion extending downwardly beyond the lower face. The cover covers the insulating housing. The electrical connector has a simple structure and a simple manufacturing process.

Abstract: A receptacle includes an insulating housing including a base and a mating tongue, upper contacts and lower contacts, a metallic shell and a shielding plate. The contacts include plate contacting sections exposed upon the mating tongue. The shielding plate is disposed in the mating tongue and the base and isolated from the upper and lower contacts. The metallic shell is retained on the base and surrounding the mating tongue to define a mating port which is inserted with a plug connector in either of two insertion orientations. The front sides of the shielding plate is exposed to the front side of the mating tongue and the lateral sides of the shielding plates is exposed to the corresponding lateral sides of the mating tongue for protection under an improper angular mating of the plug connector.

Abstract: An electrical connector assembly comprises a first connector, and a second connector mounted onto the first connector, a frame surrounding the connectors, a locking member, and a lever assemble the locking member to the frame. The locking member has a main body pivoting to the frame, a supporting portion being seated by the lever and a pushing portion. The main body locks the second connector, a user can press the lever to make the locking member to rotate, then to release the second connector, and upwardly push the second connector to apart the second connector from the first connector.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing defining a forwardly extending mating tongue, a plurality of contacts with contacting sections exposed upon the mating tongue and a metallic shield enclosing the insulative housing to define a mating cavity. A metallic shielding plate is embedded within the mating tongue and forms a pair of locking notches in two opposite lateral sides. The mating tongue further includes in two opposite lateral sides a pair of recesses aligned with and intimately located inside of the pair of locking notches, respectively, in the transverse direction. The housing and the corresponding contacts commonly form the terminal module which is composed of an upper terminal module, a lower terminal module commonly sandwiching a shielding plate module therebetween in the vertical direction. The metallic shield optionally defines a clip structure by folding an extension on a rear lower edge thereof.

Abstract: A contact unit for use within a connector includes a primary piece essentially composed of an upper part and a lower part coupled with each other. The upper part includes an upper retaining section and a resilient upper contacting arm with an upper contacting section and an upper abutment section at a free end thereof. The lower part includes a lower retaining section and a resilient lower contacting arm extending downwardly with a lower contacting section and a lower abutment section at a free end thereof. A secondary piece is spaced from and opposite to the primary piece in a horizontal direction of the contacting arm, and includes an upper abutment region adapted to be abutted against by the upper abutment section of the upper contacting arm, and a lower abutment region adapted to be abutted against by the lower abutment section of the lower contacting arm.

Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector and the pick-up cap assembled upon the housing of the electrical connector. A plurality of contacts are disposed in the housing and covered by the pick-up cap. The pick-up cap includes a pair of first side walls, and the housing includes a pair of first side faces corresponding to the pair of corresponding first side walls. Each first side face forms a pair of locking recesses. Each first side wall includes an operation section and a pair of latches. The operation section includes a cavity in the first side wall and a raised section above the cavity. Each latch includes a spring arm, and a hook located at the end of the spring arm and engaged within the corresponding locking recess. The latch is located within the boundary of the housing without extending beyond the corresponding side face.

Abstract: An electrical connector for connection between the CPU and the PCB includes an insulative housing, an insulative plate below the housing and a plurality of contacts retained to the housing and the plate. The housing forms a receiving cavity for receiving the CPU, and the plate forms a mounting face confronting the PCB. Each contact includes an upper part and a lower part discrete and independent from each other. The upper part includes an upward resilient arm extending into the receiving cavity for mechanically and electrically connecting to the CPU, and a bottom connecting section. The lower part includes a downward resilient arm extending toward the PCB for mechanically and electrically connecting to the PCB, and a top connecting section. The bottom connecting section and the top connecting section are mechanically and electrically connected to each other.
