Abstract: An upper-limb rehabilitation assisting device includes first and second handles coupled to first and second rotating shafts and rotationally operated by hands on a paralytic limb side and a healthy limb side; first and second biosignal detecting parts that detect first and second biosignals corresponding to the paralytic limb side and the healthy limb side; first and second drive parts that drive the first and second rotating shafts; and a control part that performs a cooperative control of the first rotating shaft and the second rotating shaft. The control part controls the torques of the first and second drive parts at the time of the cooperative control of the first and second rotating shafts the basis of the degree of cooperation between the first and second biosignals.

Abstract: A multi-purpose abdominal and core exercising machine is an apparatus that allows a user to exercise their abdominal muscles through a variety of guided movements. The apparatus includes an incline-adjustable frame, a track, a swiveling seat, a height-adjustable headrest, a first graspable pole, a second graspable pole, and a backrest. The track is mounted onto the incline-adjustable frame. The backrest and the swiveling seat supports the user's body as the backrest slides along the track and the swiveling seat is terminally fixed to the track. The height-adjustable headrest is mounted between the two grasping poles. The proximal end for each grasping pole is rotatably connected to the backrest, which allows the user to hold the distal end for each grasping pole. Pulling the grasping poles towards the user's abdomen allows for a movement by the apparatus to exercise the user's abdominal muscles.

Abstract: A rolling walker comprises a frame, a seat supported by that frame, and a backrest supported by the frame. By one approach the backrest is configured to selectively move between a first position that provides back support for a person sitting in the seat facing in a forward direction and a second position that provides back support for a person sitting in the seat facing in a rearward direction. If desired, this backrest can be comprised of a material (such as a memory foam material) that biases the backrest towards that first position when the backrest is in the first position and that biases the backrest towards the second position when the backrest is in the second position.

The wrap around walking aid comprising has a first rear lower frame and a first front lower frame mechanically coupled to a first upper frame. A back rest is connected to the first rear lower frame. A second rear lower frame and a second front lower frame are mechanically coupled to a second upper frame. The second rear lower frame is further mechanically coupled to the back rest. At least one first fixed front wheel is mechanically coupled to both front lower frames. At least one first castor rear wheel is mechanically coupled to both rear lower frames. The wheels enable a turn radius while the human user is walking forward.

Abstract: An attachment to a walker that automatically positions a slip resistant surface under the foot of the user. Side-by-side slip resistant surfaces are attached to a walker. A retraction mechanism biases each of the slip resistant surfaces towards the walker. Upon stepping on one of the slip resistant surfaces and advancing the walker the retraction mechanism is extended. When taking a step removing pressure from the slip resistant surface, the slip resistant surface moves towards the walker positioned for receiving the user's foot during another step. Secure footing is obtained on wet or slippery surfaces preventing falls. The attachment is easily folded and closed to be positioned out of the way or removed for storage.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a sliding-type apparatus for thermo-therapeutic treatment comprising: a body (1100) on which a thermo-therapeutic treatment device (1010) is arranged; a cover (1250) which is slid, and covers said thermo-therapeutic treatment device (1010); and guide grooves which are formed to slide on said body (1100). According to the present invention, if the apparatus for thermo-therapeutic treatment is not used, a lower bed member is slid such that the lower bed member can be overlapped with the body whereby a space can be easily utilized, and if the apparatus for thermo-therapeutic treatment is used, the lower bed member is easily unfolded in a sliding manner.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for rehabilitating a joint of a user is provided. The apparatus includes a modular frame configured to support the joint in a predefined position. A plurality of pulleys are adjustably coupled to one or more locations on the modular frame. A plurality of cords pass through the plurality of pulleys and couple to opposing ends of a boot. The boot surrounds a portion of the user distal to the joint. The plurality of cords permit a user to actuate the joint through a full range of motion. The user may selectively apply either a resistive force or an assistive force through the one or more cables to affect the joint through its range of motion.

Abstract: An apparatus for improving flexibility and its method of use are provided. The apparatus features a flexible member, which can have varying degrees of stiffness and flexibility, based on user preference. Abstract: An elevation device used in the performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and after resuscitation includes a base and an upper support operably coupled to the base. The upper support is configured to incline at an angle relative to the base to elevate an individual's upper back, shoulders and head. The elevation device includes a support arm coupled with the upper support. The support arm is movable to various positions relative to the upper support and is lockable at a fixed angle relative to the upper support such that the upper support and the support arm are movable as a single unit relative to the base while the support arm maintains the angle relative to the upper support. The elevation device also includes a chest compression device coupled with the support arm. The chest compression device is configured to compress the chest.
