Abstract: A first intelligent umbrella including a first base assembly placed on a surface, a first support assembly connected to the base assembly, the support assembly to rotate around a base assembly and a first shading expansion assembly connected to the support assembly, the shading assembly further comprising one or more arms connected to the shading expansion assembly. The first intelligent umbrella further includes a wireless communication transceiver, one or more processors, one or more memory modules; and computer-readable instructions stored in the one or more memory modules, the computer-readable instructions executable by the one or more processors to communicate commands to the first support assembly to cause the first support assembly to rotate about the base; and communicate commands to the wireless communication transceiver, wherein the wireless communication transceiver to communicate the commands to a second intelligent umbrella.

Abstract: Systems and methods for performing an aerial hydrological-assay of a topographical site require the use of an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) for collecting image data of the site. Included in a system for the present invention is a ground-based soil moisture sensor for collecting moisture data at the site. A computer is then used to combine the image data and the moisture data to create an assay report on hydrological conditions at the site. The assay report is used to implement a water conservation plan for the topographical site which efficiently and efficaciously controls water usage at the site.

Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) comprises a central body, a plurality of arms that extend out from the central body, and a plurality of rotors. Each arm has one or more joints that segment the arm into a stem portion proximal to the central body and one or more branch portions distal to the central body. The one or more joints permit the one or more branch portions to move horizontally relative to the stem portion between an extended state and a compacted state. The one or more branch portions are arranged substantially parallel to a perimeter edge of the central body in the compacted state. Each rotor in the plurality is attached to the one or more branch portions.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for operating aerial vehicles in water-based locations. Specifically, an exemplary system may include a floating tether station and an aerial vehicle coupled to the floating tether station by a tether. The system may also include a floating landing station. In such a scenario, the aerial vehicle may be configured to land on the landing station. In an example embodiment, the system may include a plurality of floating landing stations, where each floating landing station is coupled to the floating tether station. In such a scenario, at least three landing stations may be arranged about the tether station with a 120 degree azimuth spacing between adjacent landing stations.

Netting systems may include a container, a propellant disposed within the container, and a net disposed with in the container, where the net includes an open-mesh structure and a plurality of streamers coupled to the open-mesh structure. UAVs may include an airframe coupled with a propulsion system and a netting system. Methods of making netting systems may include disposing a propellant and a net into a container, where the net includes an open-meshed fabric and a plurality of streamers connected to a portion of the open-mesh fabric.
