Abstract:
An elevator system including a car call registration device by which an elevator user registers a car call before riding on a car and a group supervisory controller with a building specification data storage section in which building specification data including specially-assigned floors is stored. Further, a specially-assigned floor judgment section judges whether a departure floor is a specially-assigned floor when a car call is registered, and a traffic condition judgment section judges the traffic condition of elevators within a building. A car assignment is performed based on the traffic condition judgment section judging by the specially-assigned floor judgment section that the departure floor is a specially-assigned floor, and a car assignment is performed based on a building specification stored in the building specification data storage section when the specially-assigned floor judgment section judges the departure floor is not a specially-assigned floor.
Abstract:
The number of hall passengers waiting at a stop for service by an elevator car is determined by first calculating instantaneous passenger rates whenever a hall call button is pressed or whenever passengers board an elevator car. The instantaneous passenger rates are scaled to compensate for the inherent differences in service rates of the stops. The scaled rates are averaged into one or more of an up, down, or off peak quantities depending upon the mode of the elevator system. The number of hall passengers waiting at a stop is then calculated by multiplying one or more of the up, down, or off peak quantities, depending upon the mode of the elevator system, by the elapsed time since the stop was last serviced.
Abstract:
An elevator controlling apparatus of the present invention comprises a plurality of cage call devices for generating information with respect to cage calls from each of a plurality of cages in; a plurality of cage controlling devices which are provided in correspondence with a plurality of elevator cages, which generate information with respect to hall calls and cage traffic information and which control the operation of the elevator cages; a learning device which calculates the total traffic value in each unit time zone on the basis of the cage traffic information so that when the total traffic in a unit time zone is similar to that of an adjacent unit time zone, these time zones are set as the a divided time zone, and when a divided time zone is over a predetermined time, the next divided time zone is set; and an operation controlling device for controlling the plurality of cage controlling devices on the basis of the total traffic for the each unit time zone, the divided time zones, the information with respect to cage calls and the information with respect to hall calls.
Abstract:
A system for allocating elevator use based on an individual request includes a request module that receives a reservation request of an elevator car from a user, an allocation module that identifies a reserved elevator car based on the reservation request; and a mechanical control module that moves the reserved elevator car in response to commands provided by the user and the reservation request.
Abstract:
An exemplary method of controlling an elevator system includes determining that a temporary heavy traffic condition exists that includes a plurality of passengers requiring elevator service from an originating floor in the building that is distinct from a lobby floor. At least one elevator car out of a plurality of elevator cars within the building is temporarily dedicated to carry the passengers from the originating floor. A peak travel scheduling strategy is temporarily used for controlling the dedicated elevator car or cars for a selected period of time.
Abstract:
An elevator system and a method are provided for controlling an elevator group. The elevator system includes an elevator group, which includes at least two elevator cars, which elevator cars are fitted to be moved in the elevator hoistway according to the calls allocated by the control of the elevator group. The elevator system includes a power supply arrangement, for adjusting the power needed to move the elevator cars. An energy storage is connected to the power supply arrangement. The energy storage is fitted in the first operating situation to yield energy for use in moving the elevator car, and in the second operating situation to receive energy released by movement of the elevator car. The elevator system includes a determination of the charging status of the energy storage, and the control of the elevator group is fitted to determine the change in energy that would be caused by the movement according to an allocated call of the elevator cars belonging to the elevator group. The control of the elevator group is fitted to allocate a call by favoring in the allocation an elevator car, the determined change in energy caused by the movement of which best meets the allocation criterion.
Abstract:
One version of this disclosure includes a system for assigning an elevator car to respond to a call signal wherein a controller is responsible for determining which elevator car will respond to a call signal. This version includes the controller receiving a hall call signal, receiving information regarding the elevator system, determining whether the call assignment can be made in view of a first rule associated with a banned call assignment, and eliminating the rule against banned call assignments when necessary to avoid saturation of the elevator system.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for controlling an elevator installation with at least one shaft and a number of cars, it being possible to make at least two cars travel separately up and down along a common traveling path and a passenger being able to enter a destination call by means of an input unit disposed outside the shaft and the destination call being allocated to a car in dependence on an allocation assessment. To develop the method in such a way that the transporting capacity can be increased, with the cars which can be made to travel along a common traveling path hindering one another as little as possible, it is proposed according to the invention that, in the case of allocation of the destination call to one of the cars which can be made to travel along the common traveling path, the portion of the traveling path required for serving the destination call is assigned to this car and blocked for the time of the assignment for the other cars. Furthermore, an elevator installation for carrying out the method is proposed.
Abstract:
An elevator system for a multistory structure having a plurality of elevator shafts is shown which includes at least one independently movable elevator car in each elevator shaft. A digital computer with memory is used to control elevator cars including the dispatch of cars from terminal floors. A daily control parameter table in memory identifies a plurality of different methods of scheduling dispatch of elevator cars from terminal floors, groups of floors to be serviced by each elevator car, and cars in a shaft to be coupled for tandem operation. The memory is periodically read for selecting for each elevator car one of said methods of scheduling dispatch and for identifying the group of floors to be serviced by the cars. The selected method of scheduling the dispatch of cars is implemented and cars are limited to servicing the selected group of floors. One method of scheduling dispatch includes obtaining a measure of estimated passenger demand for travel in one direction that is incapable of being met by cars currently in service. A passenger loading threshold limit for travel in the one direction is selected which may range from zero to maximum capacity of the elevator car to be dispatched. When the measure of estimated passenger demand for travel in the one direction that is incapable of being met by cars currently in service equals the passenger loading threshold limit a car dispatch signal is issued for dispatch of a car from the terminal floor. Where a plurality of independently-operated cars are included in a hoistway, operation in either a coupled or decoupled manner is provided.
Abstract:
A system and method for controlling an elevator group including several elevators and related call devices which controls each elevator in a manner determined by the calls entered and the existing control instructions. When the control system has to decide between two or more control alternatives, a systematic decision analysis is performed by studying the effects resulting from each alternative decision, the effects resulting from each alternative decision, the effects being estimated by simulating by a Monte-Carlo type method the future behavior of the elevator system in the case of each alternative decision. To carry out the simulation, realizations are generated at random for the unknown quantities associated with the current state of the elevator system and for new external future events, and a control decision is made on the basis of the results of the decision analysis.
