Abstract:
The present invention includes a synthetic fuel pellet, the pellet comprising a compressed agglomeration of: (a) coal fines; (b) a fibrous cellulosic material wherein the fibers of the fibrous cellulosic material have been substantially disintegrated; and (c) at least one binder, the binder adapted to form a pellet of the coal fines and the fibrous cellulosic material.
Abstract:
Additives for distillate fuel are a copolymer of (1) an alpha olefin having two to seventeen carbon atoms per molecule or an aromatic substituted olefin having eight to forty carbon atoms per molecule and (2) a mono- or di-alkyl fumarate, itaconate, citraconate, mesaconate, trans- or cis-glutaconate, in which the alkyl group has 8 to 23 carbon atoms.
Abstract:
A fuel additive having detergency, solubility and thermal stability comprises a detergent component, e.g., polyalkenyl succinimide, and a carrier fluid obtained from a diamondoid fluid comprising an compound selected from the group consisting of adamantane, diamantane, triamantane, tetramantane, and the alkyl-substituted derivatives thereof.
Abstract:
The cold flow properties of distillate petroleum fuel are improved by adding a polymer or copolymer containing at least 25 wt. % of an n-alkyl ester of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen or a C.sub.1 alkyl group, e.g., methyl, R.sub.4 is COOR.sub.3, hydrogen or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl group preferably COOR.sub.3 and R.sub.3 has an average number of carbon atoms from 12 to 20 and contains a methyl branch at the 1 and/or 2 position.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to an oil-soluble lubricating oil additive comprising at least one adduct of (A) a polyolefin of 700 to 5,000 number average molecular weight substituted with carboxylic acid producing moieties (preferably acid or anhydride moieties), and (B) a monoepoxy alcohol.
Abstract:
Polyoxyalkylene esters, ethers,ester/ethers or mixtures thereof containing two C.sub.10 -C.sub.30 linear saturated alkyl groups and a polyoxy (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) alkylene glycol group of molecular weight 200 to 5,000 have been found to be effective distillate fuel flow improvers, especially for narrow boiling distillates hitherto difficult to treat, they may also be used in combination with conventional additives such as ethylene/unsaturated ester copolymers and nitrogen compounds such as diamides or amide/amine salts, ester/amides of dicarboxylic acids.
Abstract:
Lubricating oil additives having both dispersant and viscosity-index improving properties are prepared by reacting terpolymers of ethylene, a C.sub.3 to C.sub.8 alpha-olefin, and a non-conjugated diene with maleic anhydride and certain polyamines.
