Abstract:
This invention relates to cleaning the induction systems, the combustion chambers and exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. And, more particularly, to chemicals and mixtures of chemicals for removing the different types of carbon deposits encountered in internal combustion engines used in “road vehicles”. Carbon deposits were taken from the induction systems of these road vehicles for the purpose of bench testing such carbon and product development. More specifically, chemicals (i.e., solvents) and chemical mixes (i.e., solutions) have been accurately tested on such harvested carbon deposits for their ability to remove the various types of carbon deposits that accumulate within road vehicle internal combustion engines. Additionally this invention also relates to apparatus for delivering chemicals and chemical mixes. Which includes those developed by applicant, as well as those prior art products marketed for carbon removal, to the induction system of vehicles to maximize the effectiveness of the chemical delivery.

Abstract:
A method for preventing or reducing engine knock or pre-ignition in an engine lubricated with a lubricating oil by using as the lubricating oil a formulated oil. The formulated oil has a composition comprising at least one ester of a non-aromatic dicarboxylic acid. The at least one ester of a non-aromatic dicarboxylic acid preferably comprises at least one adipate ester (e.g., dialkyl adipate ester). A lubricating engine oil having a composition comprising at least one ester of a non-aromatic dicarboxylic acid (e.g., adipate ester). A fuel additive composition for use in a gasoline fuel composition or a diesel fuel composition. The gasoline fuel composition or the diesel fuel composition is used in a spark ignition internal combustion engine. The fuel additive composition comprises at least one ester of a non-aromatic dicarboxylic acid (e.g., adipate ester). The lubricating oils of this disclosure are particularly advantageous as passenger vehicle engine oil products.

Abstract:
A fuel soluble additive for a gasoline engine, a method for improving performance of fuel injectors and a method for cleaning fuel injectors for a gasoline engine. The fuel soluble additive includes a quaternary ammonium salt derived from an amido amine containing at least one tertiary amino group and an epoxide, in the presence of a proton donor selected from a carboxylic acid and an alkyl phenol. The amido amine is made in a reaction medium that is substantially devoid of an acylating agent.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a composition, comprising: an unsaturated functionalized monomer of from about 5 to about 30 carbon atoms, which is: (a) polymerized to form a functionalized polymer; (b) copolymerized with a comonomer to form a functionalized copolymer; or (c) reacted with an enophilic reagent to form a polyfunctionalized monomer. The polyfunctionalized monomer may be polymerized to form a polyfunctionalized polymer which may be further reacted with one or more additional reagents. The invention relates to lubricants, functional fluids, fuels, dispersants, detergents and polymeric resins.
Abstract:
A diesel fuel additive for use in association with bio-diesel fuel and/or petroleum derived diesel fuel having one or more solvent(s) and one or more pour-point depressant(s), wherein the pour-point depressant(s) include a polyglycerol ester, such as polyglycerol polyricinoleate and/or polyglycerol esters of mixed fatty acids. Augmentive agents may include ethylene vinyl acetate and/or polyethylene vinyl acetate.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a fuel composition, comprising: (A) a normally liquid fuel; and (B) a cold flow improving amount of (i) a metathesized natural oil; (ii) a metathesized natural oil derivative; or (iii) a mixture of (i) and (ii). The invention also relates to metathesized derivatives formed by the reaction of a metathesized natural oil with a nucleophile, oxidizer, aromatic compound, enophilic acid reagent, or a mixture of two or more thereof.
Abstract:
A fuel additive imparting high lubricity to gasoline and diesel fuels while concurrently increasing miles and reducing emissions. The fuel additive is formed of a plurality of individual components having individual and a combined synergistic effect along with components increasing fuel lubricity which are mixed with a liquid fuel-soluble carrier and added to the fuel supply of internal combustion engines.
