Abstract:
The method is for identifying and selecting a color or a combination of colors. A color sphere (200) is provided that has a first color pocket (238) defined between a first horizontal disc (202) and a second horizontal disc (208) and vertical inserts (212c, 212b) extending between the first horizontal disc and the second horizontal disc. The first horizontal disc has a plurality of organized first spectrum of color cells and the second horizontal disc has a plurality of organized second spectrum of color cells. The first spectrum is gradually lighter than the second spectrum and gradually more gray from a peripheral surface (209) towards an axial opening (232a) of the first horizontal disc and an axial opening (232b) of the second horizontal discs. A first color cell (236) is identified in a first pocket (238).
Abstract:
A computer generated webpage having a plurality of selectable links comprising a column of color family chips disposed along a left edge of the webpage display, a column of miniature color chip sub-family arrays display adjacent the column of color chips, and a centrally located enlarged display of one of the miniature color chip sub-families, the webpage further comprising an enlarged color chip appearing in an upper right corner thereof, a room display beneath the color chip, and a color palette display positioned beneath the centrally located enlarged display.
Abstract:
A method and system for measuring a colour value of a target comprising a mobile communication device having a camera with a sensor arranged to detect wavelengths of incident light reflected from an illuminated target. The mobile communication device also has a processor arranged to measure a colour value of the target based on the detected wavelengths received from the sensor, and to output the measured colour value of the target for display on a display of the mobile communication device.
Abstract:
A method for selecting paints is disclosed. This method includes the steps of selecting true paint colors, displaying device-dependent colors corresponding to the true paint colors in a simulated full size room and interacting with the buyers to change the displayed colors and select the desired colors. The method also includes the step of dispensing paints corresponding to the selected colors. The displayed colors are generated by multiple color and/or white LEDs to provide a wider gamut of displayable colors and more color saturation and chromatic. A full-size apparatus for displaying paint colors using device-dependent colors is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an easy to use color matching system and method designed to aid an individual in making desirable selections regarding color, such as for clothing, shoes, paint, furniture, window treatments, etc. It also preferably aids designers in matching colors to a standard color selection chart that may be downloaded or matched to a color meter reading.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for a hair colour consultation or a hair colour simulation. According to the inventive method, a selection of a person's (11) desired hair colours (36) is represented on a display screen (14,15) or a touch screen (22,23), by means of a video camera (12), a computer (13) and at least one display screen or touch screen. Actual individual images (21) of the person (11) are continuously recorded by means of the video camera (12) and are transmitted into the computer (13) in real time, in a continuous image sequence. Automatic image editing and image processing is carried out for each individual image (21) by means of a device (31) wherein the computer identifies (13) the person's (11) hair region (32), changes the hair colour (33) of said hair region (32) according to pre-determined specifications, and the modified individual images (21) are represented in real time again on at least one display screen (14, 15) and/or touch screen (22,23).
Abstract:
A system for selecting decorative materials is based on large numbers of high-resolution, full color images of decorative materials stored in a compressed format on an inexpensive medium such as a CD-ROM. In creating the ROM, each image is coordinated with additional information such as style of pattern, type of material, and other auxiliary information. Before final compression and storage of the image data color information is added by spectrophotometrically analyzing the decorative material. Color values for a background color and up to four foreground colors are determined. Individual colors are then referenced to a comprehensive color standard system containing a large number of standardized color swatches. Spectrophotometric color referencing allows the data records to be rapidly searched on the basis of color, as well as the other information in the record. Wallpaper patterns, drapery material, floor covering, or paint can then be rapidly selected on the basis of matching color. Various patterns and paints can be compared side by side on a high-resolution computer monitor that has been calibrated to produce an accurate color image. Finally, the chosen paints and other decorating materials can be rendered onto a room image so that the consumer can view an accurate simulation of the chosen materials.
Abstract:
Personal colors for cosmetics are determined by a method and a kit of equipment which determines an overall value for an individual by reference to the skin, eye, and hair features, determines a four-seasonal color designation of the individual by reference to colors such as powders applied to the skin, and presents the personal colors based on the overall value and seasonal color designation. A value determining scale is used to determine specific values of features by adjacent comparison to those features. An overall value chart contains information defining an overall value based on a predetermined multiple number of specific values of features. A seasonal color designation chart contains information defining a seasonal color designation as either summer, winter, spring, or autumn based on the relative ability of predetermined colors to blend with natural skin tone. A personal color direction chart correlates the overall value and seasonal color designation to personal colors.
Abstract:
A display rack and color selector assembly adapted to present to a homeowner a group of sample boards carrying actual roof shingles in a variety of colors and to afford a visual picture of a typical home whose architectural style is similar to that of the homeowner, the roof of the pictured home being selectively covered by a shingled surface in any one of the sample colors. The color selector includes a front panel on whose face is a radial array of pictures of typical homes in different architectural style, the roof in each picture being notched out to define a window whose geometry matches that of the roof. Mounted behind the panel is a rotatable color wheel which is divided into segments each having a shingled surface whose color corresponds to that of a respective sample in the group. The homeowner, while inspecting a pictured home on the panel face which is similar in style to that of his own, can then turn the color wheel to dial the segments thereof into registration with the roof window and thereby see how the pictured home looks when its roof is covered with shingles in any one of the sample colors. In this way the homeowner can decide which of these colored shingles is suitable to replace the worn shingles on the roof of his home.
