Abstract: An optical filter includes a substrate including a plurality of pixel areas spaced apart from each other and a light-blocking area between the plurality of pixel areas, a plurality of color filters arranged on a first surface of the substrate and corresponding to the plurality of pixel areas, and a plurality of conversion layers arranged on the first surface of the substrate and corresponding to the plurality of color filters. Each of the conversion layers includes inclined side surfaces. The optical filter further includes a reflective layer on the inclined side surfaces of each of the plurality of conversion layers. The reflective layer extends to the light-blocking area and is arranged consecutively on two adjacent inclined side surfaces from among the inclined side surfaces of the plurality of conversion layers and the light-blocking area between the two adjacent inclined side surfaces.

Abstract: A technique of determining the presence of a species in a sample may include passing light through an optical filter. In an example, the optical filter may include a spatially variant microreplicated layer optically coupled to a wavelength selective filter. The wavelength selective filter may have a light incidence angle-dependent optical band. The spatially variant microreplicated layer may be configured to transmit light to a first optical region of the wavelength selective filter at a first predetermined incidence angle and to a second optical region of the wavelength selective filter at a second predetermined incidence angle.

Abstract: An embodiment of an image recording apparatus includes an eyeglass frame, at least one first optical unit disposed on the eyeglass frame for capturing a main scene image, and at least one second optical unit disposed on the eyeglass frame for capturing an auxiliary scene image. The first and the second field of view of the user at least partially overlap. The image resolution of the main scene image is lower than the image resolution of the main scene image and the field of view of the main scene image is larger than the field of view of the auxiliary scene image. The image recording apparatus further includes at least one processor for receiving the main and the auxiliary scene images, and generating a modified resolution copy of the main scene image based on the auxiliary scene image.
