Abstract: A projector includes a measurement unit, a correction parameter generation unit, and an image processing unit. The measurement unit measures a color of an image formed on a projection surface in terms of a plurality of colors constituting an RGB color system and at least one color constituting an XYZ color system. The correction parameter generation unit generates a correction parameter based on a conversion value and a second measurement value of the color, which is measured by the measurement unit among the colors constituting the XYZ color system. The conversion value is obtained by converting a first measurement value of the color in the RGB color system, which is measured by the measurement unit, into the color in the XYZ color system. The image processing unit corrects image light with the correction parameter.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a heads up display, comprising: a projector, which is configured to project light to a preset region to form a projected image; an environment color acquisition device, which is configured to acquire an environment color of a background region corresponding to the preset region, wherein the background region is an external region observable through the preset region from an observer's position; and a controller, comprising a color control unit, the color control unit being configured to control a color of light projected by the projector according to the environment color, such that a color of the projected image and the environment color are distinguished from each other. Accordingly, the present disclosure further provides a heads up display method and a traveling apparatus. The present disclosure can enable a driver to always see displayed image clearly in various environments.

Abstract: An embodiment of a method for compensating variations in an attenuation of light of an optical filter of a light sensor system comprises illuminating a clear sensor and a color sensor of the light sensor system with a test light having a test spectrum. Therein the color sensor comprises the optical filter and is designed to predominantly sense light with a wavelength within a pass band of the filter; and the test spectrum has components outside the pass band. A clear test signal generated by the clear sensor and a color test signal generated by the color sensor are received in particular in response to the illumination with the test light. Then a first transmission value T is determined based on the clear test signal and on the color test signal. Finally, a compensation factor Kr, Kg, Kb is calculated to compensate the variations in the attenuation of light based on the first transmission value T and a nominal transmission value Tn of the filter.

The memory stores a color conversion model representing relations between plural colorimetric values obtained by performing, in plural color measurement directions, a color measurement of plural images formed on a first sheet using plural coloring materials including a luster coloring material, and coloring-material amounts used for the images for which the color measurement is performed and the color measurement directions for which the colorimetric values are obtained. The estimation unit estimates, on the basis of a colorimetric value, of a measurement target image formed on a second sheet of a type different from a type of the first sheet, obtained in a single direction and on the basis of the color conversion model, a colorimetric value, of the measurement target image, obtained in a case of performing a color measurement in a direction other than the single direction.

Abstract: An object is to quantify the texture such as irregularity and gloss of a metal surface. Centers of Lab chromaticity distributions are identified (S145), and one of the Lab chromaticity distribution is entirely shifted (mapped) by deviations ΔA, ΔB and ΔL of a central coordinate, such that one of central coordinates of two distributions U1(L,a,b) and U2(L,a,b) matches with the other central coordinate (S146). A texture spread index that indicates a difference in spatial spread is then computed (S147). This configuration computes the spatial spread of the Lab chromaticity distribution in a three-dimensional space, and quantifies the irregularity of an inspection plane by diffraction phenomenon of illumination light. The difference in spread other than the color is applicable to evaluation of the irregularity of the metal surface or the like.
