Abstract: Device for introducing a specimen into and withdrawing the same from the interior of a chamber sealed from the surrounding environment. The device includes a test bar slidably and sealingly projecting through an opening in the chamber. The test bar has a first length portion which includes a specimen-supporting arrangement and which has a part that is in a sealing relationship with the opening in a first end position of the test bar in which the specimen-supporting arrangement is situated inside the chamber. The test bar further has a second length portion which has a part that is in a sealing relationship with the opening in a second end position of the test bar in which the specimen-supporting arrangement is situated externally of the chamber. A releasable coupling device detachably connects the two length portions of the test bar to one another.

Abstract: An environmental chamber is described which enables an operator''s hands to have direct access within the chamber without compromising a special atmosphere within such chamber. A pair of sleeves of a flexible material are sealed to the chamber around associated access apertures and project outwardly from such chamber. Each aperture is closed by a door which is openable from within the sleeve associated therewith so that upon an operator inserting his hand and arm through the sleeve, the operator can open the door to have access to the interior of the chamber. A container which is selectively separable from the remainder of the chamber is also provided to allow objects to be transferred from the chamber without such objects having to pass through the ambient atmosphere, and an antechamber permitting objects to be passed directly into the chamber from the ambient atmosphere is included.

Abstract: An interconnection system for providing a sealed walkway between laboratories or cleanrooms includes a first connection seal configured to couple to a first mobile or modular unit and a second connection seal configured to couple to a second mobile or modular unit. The first and second connection seals provides an airtight connection between the first mobile or modular unit and the second mobile or modular unit. Each connection seal includes a channel for coupling to a mobile or modular unit and a gasket positioned within the channel. The gasket may include a stationary end positioned within the channel and an expandable end that is expandable to make contact with an expandable end of another connection seal to provide the airtight connection between the mobile or modular units. The interconnection system may further include a connection bridge that couples to a gasket on each end to provide the airtight connection.

Abstract: A patient warming system for stabilizing and/or heating and cooling a patient includes a plurality of solid-surface sections arranged for attachment to a surgical table and a warming pad layer comprising a plurality of warming pads configured for removable connection to the plurality of solid-surface sections. At least one of the plurality of solid-surface sections includes a power connector for connection to an external power source. Each warming pad of the plurality of warming pads includes a foam insulation layer, a distributed heating element layer having a warming-pad power connection for connection to the power connector, an isothermal layer, and a flexible waterproof layer. Power supplied to the warming-pad power connection of the distributed heating element layer of the respective warming pad can be used to provide a user-selected uniform temperature over the surface of the flexible waterproof layer in order to prevent hot spots.

The device further includes stationary immobilising/release means capable of allowing and preventing the annular functional crown to rotate.
