Abstract: An integrated circuit includes a photodetection region configured to receive incident photons. The photodetection region is configured to produce a plurality of charge carriers in response to the incident photons. The integrated circuit includes a charge carrier storage region. The integrated circuit also includes a charge carrier segregation structure configured to selectively direct charge carriers of the plurality of charge carriers directly into the at least one charge carrier storage region based upon times at which the charge carriers are produced.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for a light-to-frequency sensor conversion. In some implementations, a first output waveform is generated from a light signal, a frequency of the first output waveform being based on an intensity of the light signal, including integrating the light signal across multiple clock cycles. In response to receiving a notification, a hold operation is performed to stop integrating the light signal for a period of time. In response to an end of the hold operation, a second output waveform is generated that includes integrating the intensity of the light signal starting from the end of the hold operation over a count of the multiple clock cycles that start after the end of the hold operation by a delay amount. The first output waveform and the second output waveform are summed to determine the intensity of the light signal.

Abstract: A laser diode includes a semiconductor structure of a lower Bragg reflector layer, an active region, and an upper Bragg reflector layer. The upper Bragg reflector layer includes a lasing aperture having an optical axis oriented perpendicular to a surface of the active region. The active region includes a first material, and the lower Bragg reflector layer includes a second material, where respective lattice structures of the first and second materials are independent of one another. Related laser arrays and methods of fabrication are also discussed.

Abstract: Provided are a display panel and a display apparatus; the display panel comprises at least one sensing module (100) arranged in a peripheral area (B), the sensing module (100) comprises at least one sensing unit, the sensing unit (101, 102, 103) comprises a sensing transistor, a first end of the sensing transistor receives an electrical signal, a gate of the sensing transistor receives a first control signal, and a second end of the sensing transistor outputs a photosensitive signal. When the sensing transistor receives the first control signal, a gate of the sensing transistor is set to be in a closed state; when the sensing transistor is illuminated, the voltage outputted by a drain electrode of the sensing transistor increases, the voltage change amount is read as the photosensitive signal, and ambient light is identified according to the spectral features of common ambient light in combination with the response results of different wavelengths. On the basis of that functionality, the display color temperature can be optimized and display performance is improved.

Abstract: A photoelectric conversion device includes an avalanche multiplying photodiode, a signal generation unit that includes a control unit configured to control an applied voltage to the photodiode and generates a photon detection pulse based on an output generated by incidence of a photon to the photodiode, and a counter that counts the photon detection pulse output from the signal generation unit, and the counter outputs a setting value detection signal when a count value of the photon detection pulse reaches a predetermined setting value, and in response to receiving the setting value detection signal, the control unit controls the applied voltage to the photodiode so as to stop generation of an avalanche current in the photodiode.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate generally to night-vision systems and more specifically to an integrated micro-display module with a flex circuit. One example illustrated herein includes a method of upgrading a night-vision system. The method may include attaching a flex circuit to an intensifier module, in which the flex circuit includes one or more light detectors and extending beyond a leading edge of the intensifier module. The method may include inserting the intensifier module into a housing and folding the flex circuit to expose the one or more light detectors. The method may further include optically coupling a display unit to an output side of an intensifier module of the night vision system. The display unit may be configured to display graphical content in a field of view together with night-vision images from an output of the intensifier module of the night-vision system.
