Abstract: Medical pressure therapy can be used on a patient having undergone treatment to reopen an arterial obstruction, such as a stenosis or occlusion. The medical pressure therapy can establish and maintain persistently good distal runoff. The can help ensure the patency of the region having undergone the treatment procedure. In some examples, the technique involves enclosing at least a portion of a limb of a patient on which an obstruction treatment procedure has been performed in an enclosure such that the portion of the limb is sealed from external conditions. The technique further involves alternately applying a negative pressure within the enclosure and releasing the negative pressure from within the enclosure, thereby increasing a volume and velocity of blood flowing past a region of the blood vessel previously-obstructed and thereby increasing distal runoff.

Abstract: A steam therapy equipment including a vessel for heating a mixture of water and organic materials, a compressor to inject pressurized air into the vessel producing pressurized steam. The pressurized steam is conducted into the equipment via one or more valves. The therapy equipment is formed from at least one panel and may include a supporting frame. The therapy equipment includes a temperature sensor to measure the temperature inside the therapy equipment when pressurized steam is admitted via the valves. A patient enters the equipment and is exposed to the pressurized steam, causing dilation of the skin pores of the patient, whereby toxins are removed from the patient. One or more applicators may conduct pressurized steam to specific portions of the body of the patient. The patient may be provided with a portion of the mixture to consume as part of the steam therapy treatment.

Abstract: The invention relates to an exoskeleton for assisting human movement, which can be fitted to the user in terms of dimensions, tension and ranges of joint motion, either manually or automatically. Said exoskeleton can be fitted to the user in the anteroposterior direction in the sagittal plane, with the user in a horizontal or sitting position, without requiring a functional transfer. The exoskeleton has a modular design which is compatible with human biomechanics and reproduces a natural and physiological movement in the user, with up to 7 actuated and controlled degrees of movement per limb, ensuring that the user maintains equilibrium during locomotion.

Abstract: A pressure cuff is provided, comprising a plurality of layers and a controller. The layers comprise: an outer covering, an outer surface of which is exposed when the pressure cuff is secured around a body part of a patient; a first conductive layer; a first insulating layer separating the outer covering and the first conductive layer; an inner covering, the inner surface of which contacts the patient or the patient's clothing when the pressure cuff is secured to the patient; a second conductive layer; a second insulating layer separating the inner covering and the second conductive layer; and a first piezoelectric support layer separating the first and second conductive layers. The controller is electrically coupled to the first and second conductive layers and configured to supply a voltage to the first and second conductive layers, whereupon the first piezoelectric support layer constricts around the body part of the patient.

Abstract: A system and method prevents and diagnoses deep vein thrombosis in a body limb by providing a pressure sleeve having a plurality of individually fillable cells, the pressure sleeve being configurable to be placed around a body limb. A source fills each fillable cell individually, and a pressure sensor measures a pressure in a fillable cell. A controller establishes a fill sequence of each individually fillable cell and a fill time for each individually fillable cell. The controller causes a first individually fillable cell of the pressure sleeve to be filled to a predetermined pressure and causes the pressure of first individually fillable cell of the pressure sleeve to be measured while a second individually fillable cell of the pressure sleeve is filled. The controller determines a presence of deep vein thrombosis in a body limb having the pressure sleeve therearound based upon a measured pressure change in the first individually fillable cell of the pressure sleeve.

Abstract: A percussive pulsing therapy device configured for delivering pulsating or intermittent airflow to a patient device, such as a patient vest. The percussive pulsed air device may have an airflow generator for controlling amplitude of the percussive pulsed air and a pulse frequency control module for controlling frequency of the percussive pulsed air. In some embodiments, the pulse frequency control module may have a rotatable fan blade, such as a circular fan blade having one or more cutout portions. In some embodiments, the rotating fan blade may have one or more channels configured to redirect percussive pulsed air. Moreover, a percussive pulsed air device of the present disclosure may have a dampening element flowably coupled to an inlet of the pulse frequency control module. In some embodiments, at least one inlets of the pulse frequency control module may be arranged on a different airflow plane than one or more outlets.
