    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for separating polarized UV light. In one example, a method may include passing polarized source light through a first prism, the polarized source light including desired light and undesired light, separating the desired light from the fundamental light, and passing the separated desired light through a second prism. The separated desired light which is passed through the second prism may then be further passed through a spatial filter.

    Abstract: A device for measuring optical spectra at high speed and with high resolution using tunable optical laser comb sources. In one embodiment there is provided a first tunable comb laser source and a second tunable comb laser source whereby the wavelength of each comb laser source is chosen such that the combination of the two sources provides a continuous spectral coverage over a band in an optical spectrum under a selected wavelength tuning condition. By overlapping the two comb sources in the manner described the deadzone issue is overcome in the most spectrally efficient way possible.

    Abstract: A system for real-time assessment of systemic hydration includes a light source configured to operably emit light of first and second wavelengths; means for delivering the emitted light to a target site to excite at least one first spot at the target site, and collecting Raman scattering light scattered from the target site at a plurality of second spots; a detector coupled with said means for obtaining a plurality of spatially offset Raman spectra from the collected Raman scattering light, each spatially offset Raman spectrum corresponding to a respective second spot of the target site and associated with a depth of tissues at which the Raman scattering light is scattered; and a controller configured to process the plurality of spatially offset Raman spectra so as to identify spectral features from the plurality of spatially offset Raman spectra, and assess systemic hydration from the identified spectral features.

    Abstract: An optical microscope according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes: a light source; a first scanner to scan a spot position of a light beam on a sample; an objective lens to focus the light beam deflected by the first scanner and cause the light beam to be made incident on the sample; a spectroscope including a slit on an incident side which an outgoing light emitted from an area on the sample onto which the light beam has been illuminated enters; a detector configured to detect an outgoing light from the spectroscope; and a first relay optical system including a first off-axis parabolic mirror that is arranged in an optical path from the first scanner to the objective lens and reflects the light beam deflected by the first scanner and a second off-axis parabolic mirror that reflects the light beam reflected in the first off-axis parabolic mirror.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes a method and apparatus that uses spectral reconstruction of detector sensitivity to solve the above and other problems. Specifically, light sources (e.g., of visible light, infrared light and/or ultraviolet light) may target the sensor and emit, in sequence, beams of different wavelength. Spectral output of multiple channels of the sensor is received, the output including intensity (e.g., peak intensity) for each channel. The output is compared with reference intensities for each of the light sources and difference values are calculated. Based on the difference values, a calibration matrix is calculated that can be used in calibrating the specific sensor. In addition, the present disclosure describes an apparatus that includes a plurality of light sources, a receiver for receiving sensor output, and circuitry configured to generate a calibration matrix using the light sources, the receiver using spectral reconstruction of detector sensitivity.
