Abstract: A system for propelling a magnetic robotic device through a human comprises a magnetic actuator device operable to generate a rotating magnetic field, and a magnetic robotic device comprising a compliant body and at least two permanent magnets supported by and spatially separated about the compliant body. A non-magnetic region can also be oriented between the at least two permanent magnets. The at least two permanent magnets can be alternating or non-alternating in polarity with each other. In response to application of the rotating magnetic field generated by the magnetic actuator device and that is situated proximate the magnetic robotic device, the rotating magnetic field effectuates undulatory locomotion of the magnetic robotic device to propel the magnetic robotic device through a human, such as through a natural lumen. Further, the magnetic robotic device can optionally be supported by a catheter or endoscope to assist with propelling a distal end through a human.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a resistive random-access memory (RRAM) based convolutional block including a complementary pair of RRAMs having a first RRAM and a second RRAM, a programming circuit coupled to the complementary pair of RRAMs, and a XNOR sense amplifier circuit coupled to the complementary pair of RRAMs. The programming circuit is configured to receive a kernel bit from a kernel matrix, program the first RRAM to at least one selected from a group consisting of a low resistive state (LRS) and a high resistive state (HRS) based on the kernel bit, and program the second RRAM to other of the LRS and the HRS. The XNOR sense amplifier circuit is configured to receive an input bit from an input matrix, perform a XNOR operation between the input bit and the kernel bit read from the complementary pair of RRAMs, and output a XNOR output based on the XNOR operation.

Abstract: Described herein are devices and methods for improved detection and quantitation of biomolecules. Devices and methods may include a microfluidic biosensing platform for measuring electrical impedance changes in the presence of target analytes from sinusoidal input voltages to improve the sensitivity of immunoassays. In one embodiment, the described devices and methods may provide a point-of-care immunoassay platform for quantitative diagnostics using signal-enhancing microparticles to improve sensitivity and the limit-of-detection.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for combining predictive analytics with a cutting-edge electrochemical sensor having specialized coatings designed to reduce biofouling to (1) monitor drug concentration data of a patient in real-time; and (2) predict future pharmacokinetic parameters for the patient more accurately than existing technologies. Embodiments may construct highly accurate and patient-specific pharmacokinetic models which can dynamically adjust predictions of future pharmacokinetic parameters as they receive real-time drug concentration data from the electrochemical sensor. Certain embodiments may automatically adjust administration of a drug to a patient based on the aforementioned predictions and pharmacokinetic models. Other embodiments may provide a notification to a clinician containing, e.g., a recommended course of drug administration before a patient is woken up.
