Abstract: The first embodiment of a handheld personal muscle massage device has an arm rest that reacts the compressive massage force against the forearm to allow higher massage forces than would otherwise be possible. Additionally, the roller is extended from the location of the hand to facilitate massage of areas of the lower leg without the person having to bend over to administer massage effort. The second embodiment has the same attributes as the first embodiment, with the added attribute of an adjustable angle between the two structural frameworks to allow massage access to body areas that are not accessible by the device of the first embodiment. Additionally, the device of the second embodiment folds into itself for compact storage.

Abstract: An assist device includes an upper-body belt attached to the upper body of a user, first and second belts attached to the knees, a first wire coupling the upper-body belt to the first belt, a second wire crossing the first wire, a third wire coupling the upper-body belt to the second belt, a fourth wire crossing the third wire, and a motor coupled to one end of each of the first to fourth wires. When assisting users with walking, tensions equal to a first threshold value or greater are applied to one of the first and second wires and one of the third and fourth wires by the motor at different times. When detecting slacking of the upper-body belt, tensions equal to the first threshold value or greater are simultaneously applied to one of the first and second wires and one of the third and fourth wires by the motor.

Common casing substantially completely surrounds the unit including the padding element and the supporting device together with the adjusting device. A charging/discharging device is provided for pressure loading/pressure relief of padding element, and loading/relief device is in the common casing.

Abstract: The improved stationary bicycle is a self powered exercise bicycle that may, in addition to building strength with the type of resistance exercise that is typically done with standard exercise bicycles, may be used to move the muscles of an individual that is too feeble to rotate the pedals on their own through a full range of motion using the self powered function. A brake lever on one of the handles of the handle bars may be used to stop the pedals from rotating. A programming function allows the user to select various user preferred speeds.

Abstract: A modular patient support system for use in ambulating a patient across a floor, comprising a primary module and a secondary module. The primary module has a primary base and a primary deck arranged for movement relative to the primary base, and the primary deck defines a first patient support area. The secondary module has a secondary base adapted for movement along the floor relative to the primary base and a secondary deck arranged for movement relative to the secondary base. The modular patient support system is operable between a docked configuration where the secondary deck cooperates with the primary deck to define a second patient support area larger than the first patient support area, and an undocked configuration where the secondary module is spaced apart from the primary module to facilitate ambulation concurrent with the secondary module across the floor away from the primary module.

Abstract: A combination massage table with one or more resistance bands (“combination table”) is disclosed. This combination table may include: a massage table; the one or more resistance bands; and a means for attaching the one or more resistance bands to the massage table; such that a client using the combination table receives at least one improved health benefit as compared against massage therapy without any resistance band use. Methods for using the combination table are also disclosed. Such methods may include: preparing the combination table for use; preparing the client so the client is laying on top of the combination table; and massaging the client while the client at least intermittently engages the one or more resistance bands that are attached to the combination table; wherein this results in the at least one improved health benefit to the client.

Abstract: A therapeutic device and method for using the same is disclosed. The device has a supportive body and a pressure applicator extending from the body that is configured to apply pressure to suboccipital muscles of a patient. The pressure applicator may be altered to adjust a position and points through which to apply pressure to the suboccipital muscles. The body may be positioned at an angle relative to the patient's neck and the pressure applicator is applied to the suboccipital muscles. The pressure can be applied for a duration of time to relieve and/or prevent headaches and migraines in patients.

Abstract: An exoskeleton device provides for selectively adjusting an exoskeleton hip pivot/pivot position in the sagittal plane relative to the position of the hip pivot of a wearer of the exoskeleton. The exoskeleton hip pivots/pivot positions can be shifted forward or rearward relative to the hip pivots of the wearer and can either be automatically actuated by an exoskeleton control system or manually adjusted by the exoskeleton wearer. The invention particularly allows for differential hip placement in order to compensate for changing load or actuation conditions.

Abstract: An adjustable fitness and massage roller formed as a tubular structure is disclosed. The tubular structure has protrusions that can be continuously adjusted via an adjustment mechanism to extend out from the circumferential surface of the roller. In a basic position the circumferential surface is smooth and the he protrusions are not extending outward. In an extreme working position the protrusions are in utmost extended position. Abstract: A collapsible personal wheeled conveyance comprises a first and second collapsible side frame, each having ground-contacting wheels, and at least one adjustable crossbar configured to physically connect the two collapsible side frames, the adjustable crossbar(s) having a selectively adjustable length. The adjustable crossbar(s) may be lockable or non-lockable. One or more of the adjustable crossbars may comprise seat-supporting adjustable crossbars. A seat can be configured to move laterally along such a seat-supporting adjustable crossbar to permit selective adjustment of the lateral position of this seat with respect to the side frames. One or more locking mechanisms can serve to lock the seat at a particular position. By one approach the aforementioned seat-supporting adjustable crossbar can include spacing indicia to visually indicate when the seat is centrally located between the first and second collapsible side frames for a particular selected length of the seat-supporting adjustable crossbars.
