Abstract:
A tool adapted for use with a diffuser cartridge and a fluid container, wherein the tool is adapted to facilitate insertion and removal of the diffuser cartridge to and from the fluid container. The diffuser cartridge contains mineral agent beads or other materials which can enhance the quality of fluid contained within the container.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge includes a radio frequency identification, RFID, tag positioned on a casing. A compressed cellulose foam is positioned over the RFID tag on the casing. An impermeable material is positioned over the cellulose foam on the casing at an outer surface of the casing. The impermeable material defines a passage that extends through the impermeable material to the cellulose team. The passage is configured such that water is flowable through the passage to the cellulose foam. The compressed cellulose foam is configured for wicking the water from the passage to the RFID tag.
Abstract:
A water treatment assembly generally in the form of a filter faucet generally of the type mounted on a sink or similar countertop surface. The water treatment assembly generally comprises a mounted valve assembly, an inline water filter, and a water spout. The inline water filter is configured intermediate the mounted valve assembly and the spout. The inline water filter has a watertight shell comprising a water inflow port and a water outflow port that allow the filter to be used as a readily replaceable and disposable modular filter cartridge. The filter inflow port allows for releasable fluid engagement with the valve assembly. The filter outflow port comprises a fitting for receiving the spout. Water flow through the filter and spout is controlled by the valve assembly. The combined assembly permits the new use of standard components improved in a cost effective manner to form a reliable filter faucet.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a water filter cartridge, with a housing and a flow path for air for ventilating a water tank storing water to be processed by the water filter cartridge. The latter is distinguished in that the flow path has a first water barrier.
Abstract:
A system for limiting the flow from a dispensing valve when a dispensing cartridge is replaced with the system including a dispenser cartridge with a cam and a water socket with a flow limiter therein that is activeable in response to the position of the dispenser cartridge in the dispensing valve and operable in response to an upstream fluid pressure in the dispensing valve.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for separating, harvesting and primary dewatering microalgae biomass from a microalgae solution by destabilization thereof with addition of kinetic energy thereto is disclosed. The method to overcome the energetic barrier preventing a fluid-solid separation comprises injecting the microalgae solution in an electrolytic system comprising an electrocoagulation reactor generally comprising an anode module and a cathode module, the anodes and the cathode(s) being adapted to be electrically connected to perform electrolysis, thus separating, harvesting and primary dewatering microalgae biomass. Such process is generally achieved by providing a DC electric current, between the anodes and the cathode(s), to perform the separation of the biomass in the solution, in preparation the following process steps of for liquid/solid separation and primary dewatering.
Abstract:
The present invention provides subsea seawater filtration and treatment system, comprising a filtration assembly (1,3) for filtering out particles and detritus from the seawater; a first pump (5) comprising an inlet in fluid communication with the filtration assembly (1,3) and an outlet; a sulphate removal unit (6) comprising an inlet in fluid communication with the outlet of the first pump (5), a first fraction outlet for sulphate depleted seawater and a second fraction outlet for sulphate enriched seawater; at least one second pump (7) comprising an inlet in fluid communication with the first fraction outlet, and an outlet for the sulphate depleted seawater; wherein the second fraction outlet is in fluid communication with the filtration assembly (1,3), such that the sulphate enriched seawater may be used for backwashing at least a part of the filtration assembly during use.
Abstract:
The invention provides systems and methods for purification of fluids such as water and air. The fluids are passed through a filter comprising chlorhexidine citrate (CXC), wherein either in the same filter or downstream from it a sorbing mixture of porous calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate and activated carbon is also provided. The invention enables rapid, economical fluid purification without byproducts. The materials can be regenerated for reuse, and the invention can be used for either high volume applications or disposable single-use applications.
Abstract:
Provided are media cartridges that have adjustable bypasses using linear movement, and systems and methods that use them. Aspects include an adjustable bypass filter cartridge where a treated stream and an adjusted non-treated stream combine prior to post-filtration and the percentage or ratio of treated the and the non-treated water is adjustable at the time of installation from the outside of the filter cartridge with a known or predictable level of bypass. Media cartridges comprise: an inlet in fluid communication with a feed chamber and an outlet in fluid communication with a mixing compartment; a media compartment containing a media; a bypass port in fluid communication with the feed chamber and the mixing compartment; and a bypass regulator that is adjustable by linear movement. Such cartridges maybe adjusted to meet the needs of a wide variety of end uses.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a “warning device dedicated for replacing aged-filter in a handheld showerhead”, which comprises a showerhead stem, an impeller mount, an impeller, a signal circuit device and a transparent lid. The showerhead stem includes an upper adapting section, a lower adapting section, and a mounting cavity for containing parts of impeller and signal circuit device. With upper adapting section and lower adapting section, the warning device can be easily sandwiched between showerhead and filter cylinder of conventional “handheld showerhead with built-in filter”. Other than inherent measuring display for quantity of shower water and alerting function for timely replacing filter cartridge, the warning device also solves all issues of “top-heavy awkwardness”, “quickened aging fatigue” and “redundant purchase waste”, which happened in the prior arts of “handheld showerhead with filter replacing pre-alarm device” or “handheld showerhead with filter replacing pre-display device” and conventional “handheld showerhead with built-in filter”.
