Disclosed is a method for joining two strips, where the two strips each include a laminate of a release liner and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and the release liner extends from the corresponding pressure-sensitive adhesive layer in a longitudinal end region of at least one of the two strips. The method includes butting cross-sections of longitudinal ends of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers of the two strips to bond the two pressure-sensitive adhesive layers; and superposing end regions of the release liners of the two strips and fixing the release liners so that surfaces of the release liners in portions at least 1 mm long inward from the longitudinal ends are not in contact with surfaces of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers. This method gives a continuous strip from which the release liner can be smoothly removed without “binding” even at the joint.

The present invention provides a double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet including a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer which has a thickness of 3 to 15 μm and contains a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing the following acrylic polymer (a) and acrylic oligomer (b), wherein the acrylic oligomer (b) is contained at a proportion of 10 to 35 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the acrylic polymer (a), acrylic polymer (a): an acrylic polymer having a weight-average molecular weight of 500,000 to 900,000 and formed from monomer components containing at least 50 to 99% by weight of alkyl(meth)acrylate of which the alkyl group has 4 to 12 carbon atoms, and 1 to 10% by weight of a carboxyl group-containing monomer, acrylic oligomer (b): an acrylic oligomer having a weight-average molecular weight of 3,000 to 6,000 and formed from monomer components containing at least 50 to 99% by weight of (meth)acrylic ester, which has a glass transition temperature of 60 to 190° C. when it is formed into a homopolymer and has a cyclic structure, and 1 to 10% by weight of a carboxyl group-containing monomer; and wherein the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has a thickness unevenness of the whole surface of 0.030 μm or less.

A pressure-sensitive adhesive double-coated sheet comprising a substrate, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (A) formed on one side of the substrate and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (B) formed on the other side of the substrate, wherein at least the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (A) is formed with a pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising a butyl rubber as base material, and after the pressure-sensitive adhesive double-coated sheet is allowed to stand at 60° C. for five days while being placed between a moisture vapor-permeable waterproof sheet attached to the adhesive layer (A) and an aluminum plate attached to the adhesive layer (B), an expansion coefficient of the moisture vapor-permeable waterproof sheet is 0.5% or less. The pressure-sensitive adhesive double-coated sheet can allow the moisture vapor-permeable waterproof sheet to less expand over time when attached between the moisture vapor-permeable waterproof sheet and the adherend in a waterproof airtight structure of a construction.

A double-sided PSA sheet 11 comprises PSA layers 2 formed of a water-dispersed PSA composition and a non-woven fabric substrate 1 to support the PSA layers. The substrate 1 contains hemp as a fiber component and is processed with an impregnating agent selected from a group consisting of viscose and starches. The substrate 1 has a grammage of 7 g/m2 to 17 g/m2. The sheet 11 provides excellent adhesive performance and can be removed without substrate failure. Therefore, it is suitable, for example, for fastening recyclable parts.

The present invention relates to a double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet for use in a wiring circuit board, which includes a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed of a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprising an acrylic polymer and a tackifier resin containing a phenolic hydroxyl group; and a release liner comprising a releasing treatment layer formed of a silicone release agent. The double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet of the invention has a good adhesiveness and, even after a high-temperature step, it is capable of exerting an excellent anti-repulsion property. Further, since the release liner can be easily peeled off even after the high-temperature step, the workability is excellent and the productivity is improved.
