    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a terahertz detector. The terahertz detector includes a planar array structure that is constituted by a plurality of pixel units, the plurality of pixel units each include N sub pixels and each of the sub pixels includes no more than one signal trigger configured to transform a terahertz signal to an electrical current pulsing signal, and each of the plurality of pixel units detects a signal that is a sum of the electrical current pulsing signals of the N sub pixels, where N is an integer greater than 1.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to limitation of noise on light detectors using an aperture. One example implementation includes a system. The system includes a lens disposed relative to a scene. The lens focuses light from the scene. The system also includes an aperture defined within an opaque material. The system also includes a waveguide having a first side that receives light focused by the lens and transmitted through the aperture. The waveguide guides the received light toward a second side of the waveguide opposite to the first side. The waveguide has a third side extending between the first side and the second side. The system also includes an array of light detectors that intercepts and detects light propagating out of the third side of the waveguide.

    Abstract: A light receiving device that receives a light signal includes: a plurality of avalanche photodiodes, in each of which receiving sensitivity is set in accordance with a bias signal that is provided; a plurality of level conversion units provided in association with the avalanche photodiodes, each of the level conversion units being configured to convert a level of a reference voltage for obtaining the bias signal so as to generate the bias signal and being configured to provide the bias signal to corresponding one of the avalanche photodiodes; and a control unit that generates a first control signal corresponding to a temperature of the light receiving device, and controls a level conversion amount of each of the level conversion units by using the first control signal.

    Abstract: An electromagnetic radiation detection circuit includes a photodetector transforming the received electromagnetic radiation into an electric current. A readout circuit is coupled to a first terminal of the photodetector and configured to transform a current signal into a voltage signal. A capacitor has a first terminal electrically coupled to the first terminal of the photodetector and a second terminal electrically coupled to the readout circuit. A resistor has a first terminal electrically coupled to the capacitor and to a first terminal of the photodetector. A bias circuit is electrically coupled to a second terminal of the resistor and configured to bias the photodetector during a first time period by means of the resistor.
