Abstract:
A system directs action based on distinguishing audio content received in response to placing an outbound call. The system comprises an audio signal analysis system and an audio content analysis system. The audio signal analysis system directs a portion of an audio signal that comprises audio content to the audio content analysis system. The audio content analysis system: i) receives portions of the audio signal comprising audio content; and ii) directs handling of the outbound call in response to detecting a characteristic of the audio content. The audio content system: i) directs a first handling of the outbound call in response to identifying a first characteristic of the audio content; and ii) directs a second handling of the outbound call in response to identifying a second characteristic of the audio content. The first handling of the outbound call may be directed in response to identifying a characteristic of the audio content associated with recorded content and the second handling of the outbound call is directed in response to identifying a characteristic of the audio content associated with real time spoken audio.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method for joining a meet-me conference call includes but is not limited to presenting an option to specify a quorum associated with a meet-me conference call, in response to user input to an application program co-resident with a terminal. In one embodiment, the user input includes but is not limited to an indication that the user is requesting to join a meet-me conference call. In one embodiment, the presenting an option to specify a quorum is done in response to the user input includes but is not limited to an indication that the user is requesting to specify a quorum either at the time at which a meet-me call is being scheduled, or at a time prior to a time at which a meet-me conference call is to transpire. In one embodiment, a method for adding a participant to a meet-me conference call includes but is not limited to querying a multipoint controller as to participants in or users waiting to join a meet-me conference call, in response to receiving a first message, from a Client Conference Manager Application co-resident with a terminal (Terminal-CCMA), that a user desires or is available to join a meet-me conference call; and sending a message containing the results of the querying to at least one Terminal-CCMA. In other embodiments, hardware and/or software effect the forgoing described method embodiments.
Abstract:
Method, for use in a telecommunications network, of selecting from a plurality of composite services a composite service to be executed in response to a network event. Each composite service has associated therewith criteria including a Boolean expression determining whether or not the composite service may be executed in response to the network event. The method comprises composing, for the network event, for each composite service an indicator indicating a) whether or not the criteria for that composite service are met by the network event, and b) a measure of conformity of the network event with said criteria. The method further includes selecting the composite service having associated therewith the indicator indicating that the criteria are met, and indicating closest conformity.
Abstract:
A system and method for automated connection triggered by availability status. The present invention includes a method of determining whether a connection request is pending to connect to a previously unavailable party and automatically making the connection now that the party is available. An alternate method includes generating a request to automatically connect to a party when the party becomes available. Application of embodiments of the present invention includes a telephony and/or an internet system.
Abstract:
In an example, a mobile device such as a tablet, phone, or similar, is configured for use with a virtual conference software provided by a virtual conference server. The mobile device is configured to receive one or more triggers such as battery-below-threshold, switch to a low-bandwidth data network, signal-below-threshold, switch to hands-free mode, switch to a short-range transceiver, lock screen, etc. Upon receiving the trigger, the mobile device enters a reduced-functionality state, where at least part of the virtual conference stream is disabled.
Abstract:
Advertisement vendors can be dynamically selected in response to a request from a wireless communication device. A mediation router can receive an ad request from a portal interfaced with a wireless device. Specifically, the mediation router analyzes the request and dynamically selects an ad vendor to service the request, based in part on the analysis. The selected ad vendor supplies the ad and the mediation router ensures that the portal receives the ad. The mediation router selects an ad vendor in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, business decision rules or artificial intelligence and/or a combination thereof. The mediation router further employs customer profiles that help vendors target advertisements to specific consumers and wireless devices.

Abstract:
A directory assistance system includes a request handling module for receiving a plurality of incoming directory assistance requests from requesters and an agent platform for handling the directory assistance requests by providing at least one listing to the requester. A record database stores a record relating to the first request, and includes a first identifier, a time and a listing entry. An incoming request tracking module tracks second incoming directory assistance requests, by reviewing a second identifier associated with the directory assistance request, comparing the second identifier against the first identifiers in the records, and if a record has a matching first identifier to second identifier from request, then, prior to the second request being sent to the agent platform, offering to automatically provide the stored listing entry from the record to the requester.
