Abstract:
A network facsimile apparatus having a real-time network facsimile function and an e-mail-based network facsimile function is provided. The network facsimile apparatus includes a selector for making a selection, for a transmission operation, whether to use the real-time network facsimile function or the e-mail-based network facsimile function. The selection is made in accordance with specified destination information.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus, a control method, a memory medium, and a program, in which further larger power saving can be accomplished are provided. An N/W interface circuit and a video interface circuit which are constructed so that a communication possible state and a communication impossible state can be independently controlled are provided. Transmission/reception situations of data to/from an external apparatus are monitored and a power supply and a non-power supply of those interfaces are controlled by a control unit, respectively.
Abstract:
An internet facsimile apparatus and data communication apparatus that can directly exchange capability information of sender and receiver sides and maximize the capability of both sides is provided, by obtaining an IP address of a destination terminal based on the input e-mail address, and by directly transmitting the e-mail to the destination terminal using the IP address of the destination terminal without using mail servers. Also, using the IP address of the destination terminal, a connection is established with the destination terminal to execute a mail protocol that can exchange capability information. After obtaining the capability information of the destination terminal, data format of the sending data is converted to match the capability information of the destination terminal, and the sending data is transmitted by e-mail.
Abstract:
A CPU checks a relation between the terminal type information which is stored in a transmission destination terminal type of an information storing unit in association with a mail address designated as a transmission destination of the image transmission when this image transmission is designated, namely, a terminal type of a transmission destination, and a transmission system of which usage is designated. The CPU informs the confirmation result of the system designation on the basis of the class information which is stored in an information storing unit in association with a mail address, which is designated as a transmission destination.
Abstract:
An electronic-mail communication apparatus includes an acceptor that accepts image data, a converter that converts the image data into electronic mail format data, and a display section that displays a list of destinations for transmitting the electronic mail format data. An operational panel designates at least one destination, of the destinations displayed on the display section; and an e-mail transmitter transmits the electronic mail format data to the at least one destination designated by the operational panel, via a communication network.
Abstract:
A gateway device with private branch exchanging function capable of carrying out transmission of image data using a desired network without carrying out any complicated operations by a user. When receiving an input of a facsimile number and the image data from the user, the facsimile machine FAX1a connected to the private branch network K transmits the facsimile number and the image data to the gateway device GTW1 functioning as a PBX. When receiving the facsimile number and the image data from the facsimile machine FAX1a, the gateway device GTW1 confirms the number attached to the front of the facsimile number, and when the number is null0null, transmits the image data to the facsimile machine FAX2 via the public switched telephone network PSTN. When the number is null*null, the gateway device GTW1 transmits the image data to the gateway device GTW2 via the Internet NTW.
Abstract:
A fax routing system and method using a standard fax machine and personal computer. The telephone number is decoded from the telephone number dialing which is generated by the fax machine. This number is looked up in a table. If a corresponding Internet address is found, the fax is downloaded from the fax machine, converted into a computer file, and sent to the recipient via his Internet address. If a corresponding Internet address is not found, the decoded number is dialed on a telephone line and, thereafter, the telephone line is connected to the fax machine for normal fax delivery.
Abstract:
An electronic-mail reception apparatus has a body and includes a facsimile receiver that negotiates with a sender before receiving image data, to receive image data in facsimile format from the sender via a telephone network. An electronic-mail receiver receives image data in an electronic mail format from a mail sender via a communication network, a converter converts the image data in the electronic mail format into image data in the facsimile format, and an output section outputs the converted image data. An error transmission section, when the data format that the electronic-mail receiver receives is different from a predetermined data format of the image data in an electronic-mail format, transmits an error message to the mail sender. The facsimile receiver, the electronic-mail receiver, the converter, the output section and the error transmission section are integrated in the body of the apparatus.
Abstract:
An Internet facsimile apparatus makes inquiry about capability, which a destination possesses, to a local server. The server is connected to the same LAN as that of the Internet facsimile apparatus. When the local server has no capability information of the destination, the Internet facsimile apparatus makes inquiry to a DNS server and obtains capability information. Then, the Internet facsimile apparatus makes an image to be suitable for the capability of the destination and transmits it to the destination via the Internet. As a result, the Internet facsimile apparatus on a transmitter side can surely obtain capability information of a destination terminal, thereby making it possible to carry out the same capability exchange as that of G3 facsimile apparatus.
Abstract:
A Protocol Fax Box (PFB) receives information, determines destinations for the information, and converts the information protocol and data, if necessary, for transmission to the destinations. The PFB has plural interfaces from which it receives and sends data. Upon receiving information on one of its interfaces, the PFB creates a set of objects for handling the transfer of the information from the incoming interface to an outgoing, or destination, interface. A source object handles the incoming communication, a session object handles destination determination, and a destination object handles protocol conversion from the source interface to the destination interface. The session object also logs information regarding each session. The PFB may use a client server model to download information as needed from a network, or have processing be performed on the network.
