Abstract:
A mobile terminal improved in operability concerning fax transmission. A CPU of the mobile terminal sets information indicative of a fax transmission destination, sets reading and transmission information concerning fax transmission and original reading, and sends a request for fax transmission, to an image forming apparatus. When a response notifying capability of fax transmission is received from the apparatus, the CPU causes a message for prompting a user to set an original, to be displayed on a display section. When the original has been set and an instruction for fax transmission from the user is received, the CPU sends an instruction for reading the original and executing fax transmission, together with the transmission destination information, and the reading and transmission information, to the apparatus. The CPU causes a result of fax transmission by the apparatus to be displayed on the display section.
Abstract:
In one example, a print job is received from a first mobile computing device. The print job is stored in association with a job identifier. The job identifier is sent to the first mobile device. A release code is received from a second mobile computing device. The release code includes the job identifier and a directive regarding printing or forwarding of the job, and was received at the second mobile device from the first device via a wireless transaction. A network-connected printer associated with the second device is identified. Responsive to a determination that the release code is valid, the print job is sent to the printer.
Abstract:
A communication device may acquire function execution information and authentication information, and execute a first determination process. The first determination process may determine whether a state of the communication device is an executable state in which the communication device is capable of executing a specific process or a non-executable state without using the authentication information. The communication device may execute a second determination process determining whether the communication device is capable of executing the communication with a second device in a case where it is determined that the state of the communication device is the executable state, and execute the communication with the second device in a case where the communication device is capable of executing the communication.
Abstract:
A technology is provided for, when an error occurs in a communication apparatus (image forming apparatus), notifying a user of information relating to the error using NFC without a decrease in the user's convenience. A communication apparatus according to an aspect of the present invention includes an NFC device (NFC controller) which can operate in either a reader/writer mode or a card emulation mode. The communication apparatus, when an error occurs, obtains information relating to the error, and sets, into the NFC device, the obtained error information as information which an external mobile terminal can read from the communication apparatus via NFC in the card emulation mode. The communication apparatus also sets the operation mode of the NFC device to the card emulation mode.
Abstract:
A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium for a mobile terminal configured to communicate with first and second scanning devices which exist within a communicatable range of an NFC (near field wireless communication), the recording medium storing instructions which cause the mobile device to, when the NFC is established between the mobile terminal and a particular scanning device, which is one of the first and second scanning devices, transmit to the particular scanning device a scan command to instruct to generate scan data, execute a determination process to determine which of the first and second scanning devices is the particular scanning device, and only when the first scanning device is the particular scanning device, execute a first process to store the scan data in a first storage server which corresponds to the first scanning device, the scan data being generated in the particular scanner device based on the scan command.
Abstract:
A portable terminal issues a response request to an electronic device. According to a response of the electronic device to the response request, the portable terminal determines a power state of the electronic device and issues a notification of a determination result of the power state. The portable terminal acquires, from an information carrier, location information indicating a location of a main power switch of the electronic device and issues a notification of the location information.
Abstract:
An operation for an operation unit is detected. If the operation is detected and a communication unit executes close proximity wireless communication with an external apparatus, a confirmation screen for confirming execution of processing corresponding to the operation for the operation unit is displayed.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus includes: a first receiving unit that receives pieces of user information on a plurality of users from a plurality of information processing terminals used by the users; an authentication processing unit that performs authentication processing of the users based on the pieces of user information; a first generating unit that generates screen information on a screen used to operate the information processing apparatus for each of the authenticated users; and a first transmitting unit that transmits the screen information to the information processing terminals used by the users corresponding thereto.
Abstract:
A near field communication (NFC) operating mode of an image forming apparatus may be set by determining a type of a job to be performed in the image forming apparatus via NFC tagging of a mobile device, determining a first NFC operating mode corresponding to the determined type of the job from among a plurality of NFC operating modes supported by an NFC module, setting the determined first NFC operating mode as an operating state of the NFC module, and performing the job by tagging the mobile device via NFC by using the set first NFC operating mode.
Abstract:
When a print processing apparatus is not connected to a printing apparatus, the printing apparatus generates communication information using an IP address of the printing apparatus and writes the generated communication information into a memory of an NFC communication unit. When the print processing apparatus is connected to the printing apparatus, the printing apparatus generates communication information using an IP address of the print processing apparatus and writes the generated communication information into the memory of the NFC communication unit.
