Abstract:
A coating device and method for coating a fiber web for applying coating color onto a fiber web has a nozzle unit with at least one nozzle part (10), a feeding chamber (11) and at least one equalizing chamber (13; 13′), a feed hole (12) between the feeding chamber (11) and the first equalizing chamber (13), and a nozzle slot (14′) from which the coating color is discharged through the nozzle slot (14′) outlet opening (15). A mixing chamber (20) between the outlet area of the feed hole (12) and the equalizing chamber (13) functions as a means for distributing uniformly the inhomogeneous coating color flow entering the equalizing chamber (13) from the feed hole (12). The coating from the feed hole is directed to a wall (22) of mixing chambers (20) which distribute uniformly the coating entering the equalizing chamber (13).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an optical article comprising a substrate coated with a coating preferably comprising silanol groups on its surface and, directly contacting this coating, an antifog coating precursor coating, said precursor coating preferably having a static contact angle with water of more than 10° and of less than 50° and being obtained through the grafting of at least one organosilane compound possessing a polyoxyalkylene group and at least one silicon atom bearing at least one hydrolyzable group, and is further coated with a film obtained by applying a composition containing at least one surfactant of formula F(CF2)y—(CH2—CH2O)x+1H (VIII), wherein x is an integer ranging from 1 to 14, y is an integer lower than or equal to 10, compounds of formula (VIII) in which y=6 representing at least 90% by weight by weight, relative to the weight of compounds (VIII) present in the composition, so as to form an antifog coating, having preferably a static contact angle with water lower than or equal to 10°.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a paint-coating brush consisting of a rectangular flat body plate, a handle installed on a center of an upper surface of the body plate, and a plurality of bristles bundled on a lower surface of the body plate, wherein a front end portion of the said plate is bended downward to form a sharp R-shaped muzzle section. The procedures of using the paint-coating brush include: (A) dipping the plurality of bristles in paint; (B) using a front end (tip) portion of the body plate to contact a borderline of a target object and then coating towards a central part of the object being painted. However, the procedure of masking non-coating areas is not included.
Abstract:
A process for continuous manufacturing of steel strips for packaging coated with a passivation layer is provided. The layer is an aqueous passivation solution, the thickness of which is less than 3 μm and the viscosity of which is less than 1.5·10−3 Pa·s at 20° C., and is deposited on one of the faces of the strip. This depositing is carried out by a transfer roller in contact with the strip and with a second coating roller, the surface of which has a plurality of hexagonally shaped cells, the line count of which is between 50 and 200 lines per centimeter, and the total volume of which is between 5·10−6 and 10·10−6 m3 per square meter of roller surface. The coating roller is fed with aqueous passivation solution by dipping in a tank equipped with wiping means and the strip runs at a speed greater than or equal to 400 m/m. An apparatus for implementation of the process is also provided.
Abstract:
A tow prepreg manufacturing apparatus applies resin to an original tow of reinforcing fibers. The tow prepreg manufacturing apparatus includes an oiling roller, a scraper, a resin reservoir, a tube pump, and a controller. The oiling roller is supplied with resin while rotating at a predetermined rotation speed. The scraper adjusts the shape of the resin supplied onto the oiling roller. The resin reservoir supplies resin to the oiling roller. The tube pump discharges resin to the resin reservoir. The controller controls the tube pump so that the amount of resin held in the resin reservoir remains constant and controls the rotation speed of the oiling roller so that a resin content of a wound tow prepreg becomes equal to a target resin content.
Abstract:
An anti-corrosion and water-repellent substance configured for application to surfaces of materials to prevent corrosion and otherwise protect those materials. The substance consists of 1-bromopropane, nitromethane, ethyloxirane, and highly refined paraffin wax. In a preferred embodiment of a method of treating materials, the anti-corrosion and water-repellent substance is sprayed on a surface. In other embodiments, the substance may be applied with a brush or roller. In yet another embodiment, the substance may be applied by immersing the items being treated for optimal coverage of their exposed surfaces. The substance adheres to various materials and protects them by repelling water, acids, salt brines, and other substances and elements, including corrosives.
Abstract:
Compositions comprising a liquid and fumed silica may be applied to fabric and other textile materials as a sealant, e.g., to protect against damage or deterioration. The composition may comprise liquid droplets at least partially or completely surrounded by fumed silica. The liquid may comprise water and one or more polymers, such as a fluorocopolymer and a functionalized anionic polymer.
