A client terminal has a component that acquires a web page having an embedded scanner control script that controls image input from a scanner; a component that sends an image acquisition request through an interface board to the scanner as controlled by the scanner control script; and a component that gets an image from the scanner as a response to the image acquisition request as controlled by the scanner control script.     Abstract: Systems and methods for matching a received image with a template image are disclosed herein. Such systems and methods can advantageously enable an image captured by a mobile device (such as a smartphone or digital camera) to be correctly identified by the processing application. In some embodiments, the received image is first resized in one or both dimensions in order to match or approximately match the dimensions of a given template. The received image and template image can then be superimposed. Next, an optimal translative transformation value can be calculated in order to generate a confidence level for the current possible match. After confidence levels for each template are generated and recorded, the template with the highest confidence level can be selected as the best match for the received image.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing and extracting content from an image of a driver's license captured using a mobile device. In one embodiment, an image of a driver's license (DL) is captured by a mobile device and corrected to improve the quality of the image. The corrected image is then further processed by cropping the image, identifying the format and layout of the DL, binarizing the image and extracting the content using optical character recognition (OCR). Multiple methods of image cropping may be implemented to accurately assess the borders of the DL, and a secondary layout identification process may be performed to ensure that the content being extracted is properly classified.
