Abstract:
An image data communication apparatus is connected to an image data source and to a network, and transmits image data attached to an e-mail to a receiving apparatus via the network. The e-mail including a mail from command and a mail message. The image data attached to the e-mail as an openable document. The image data communication apparatus comprises a panel section which inputs a mail address of a user to image data communication apparatus. The image data communication apparatus comprises a controller which sets the mail address of the user input by the panel section into the mail from command of the e-mail to which the image data is attached. Thus, a mail error message is returned to the mail address of the user.
Abstract:
A registered address that is normally used by the user and comprises personal information is input into an MFP apparatus. The MFP apparatus sends a command including the registered address to the mail provider, obtains a new address for which the registered address is designated as a forwarding address, and deletes the registered address from the MFP apparatus. Where the MFP apparatus receives an e-mail non-arrival notification, the MFP apparatus sends the non-arrival notification to the new address. The non-arrival notification sent to the new address is received by the mail provider and forwarded to the registered address. In this way, notification of the e-mail's non-arrival can be provided without the registered address remaining in the MFP apparatus.
Abstract:
An electronic-mail apparatus comprises an acceptor that accepts an electronic-mail, an electronic-mail transmitter that transmits the accepted electronic-mail to a designated electronic mail destination address, and an operational panel that includes a start member that starts a transmission of an electronic-mail to a destination address. The operational panel designates an electronic mail destination address, and further designates an alternative destination address, to be used in case of a transmission completion failure, to which a message indicating a failure in completion of a started transmission of an electronic-mail is sent when the transmission of an electronic-mail started by the start member is not completed. The message provides an indication, at the alternative destination address, of a transmission completion failure during transmission of an electronic-mail.
Abstract:
An image data communication apparatus is connected to an image data source and to a network, and transmits image data attached to an e-mail to a receiving apparatus via the LAN. The e-mail including a mail from command and a mail message. The image data communication apparatus comprises a memory which stores a default mail address and a panel section which inputs a mail address of a user to the image data communication apparatus. The image data communication apparatus comprises a controller which sets the default mail address into the mail from command of the e-mail to which the image data is attached when the mail address of the user is not input by the panel section, and sets the mail address of the user input by the panel section into the mail from command of the e-mail to which the image data is attached when the mail address of the user is input by the panel section. Thus, when an error occurs, a mail error message is returned to the mail address of the user.
Abstract:
An image data communication apparatus is connected to an image data source and to a network, and transmits image data attached to an e-mail to a receiving apparatus via the network. The e-mail including a mail from command and a mail message. The image data attached to the e-mail as an openable document. The image data communication apparatus comprises a memory which stores a default information and a panel section configured to input information regarding an identification of a user into the image data communication apparatus. The image data communication apparatus comprises a controller which sets the default information into the mail message of the e-mail to which the image data is attached when the information regarding the identification of the user is not input by the panel section, and sets the information regarding the identification of the user, input by the panel section, into the mail message of the e-mail to which the image data is attached when the information regarding the identification of the user is input.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus transmits facsimile data converted from e-mail data to a facsimile destination via a public communication network. A receiver receives the e-mail data from a requesting node. A memory stores a password and a domain name of a requesting node. An acquiring section acquires a destination address including at least a telephone number, a password and a domain name, from the requesting node. A converter converts the e-mail data into facsimile data. A comparator compares the password and the domain name acquired by the acquiring section, with the password and the domain name stored in the memory, respectively. A facsimile transmitter transmits the converted facsimile data to the facsimile destination designated by the telephone number when a result of the comparison indicates that the password and the domain name acquired are the same as the password and the domain name stored in said memory. Further, when a result of the comparison indicates that the password and the domain name acquired are not the same as the password and the domain name stored in the memory, the facsimile transmitter does not transmit the facsimile data to the facsimile destination.
Abstract:
A communication terminal device that transmits electronic mail through a network by a mail system thereon, is provided in which the communication terminal device receives delivery confirmation mail from the mail system when an electronic mail transmission by the mail system was successful, and error mail from the mail system when the electronic mail transmission was failed. When the communication terminal device has received the delivery confirmation mail or the error mail, it stores a result of the electronic mail transmission including in its memory.
Abstract:
A facsimile control section detects whether or not a transmission destination is busy. When the busy state is detected, the facsimile control section notifies a busy notification mail generating section that the busy state has been detected. In accordance with this notification, the busy notification mail generating section generates a busy notification mail and instructs a mail transmitting section to transmit the generated mail. Thereafter, the facsimile control section executes a retry of facsimile transmission to a facsimile apparatus of transmission destination. This makes it possible for a request source, which is placed at a remote site and the like, to easily recognize whether or not a relay apparatus is retrying.
Abstract:
A document transmission apparatus reduces troublesome labor of an operator when transmitting document data, inputted from a scanner or the like, by various transmission methods such as electronic mail, facsimile, remote printing and file transfer. An address book containing a receiver and a plurality of transmission methods for transmitting document data to the receiver is generated. Upon transmission instruction, an appropriate transmission method is selected by the receiver, then document data is converted into data of an appropriate data format, and the converted data is transmitted. Further, a notice of transmission indicating that the document data has been transmitted is transmitted to the receiver of the document data by a method different from the transmission method of the document data. Thus, the document data can be reliably delivered to the receiver.
Abstract:
In accordance with a method and apparatus of the present invention, a voice communication system is disclosed for use in a packet switching network environment including a host server for communicating voice information, initiated by a telephone user, to an electronic mail (email) recipient. A public switching telephone network (PSTN) includes at least one telephone device for communicating the voice information therethrough. The host server is responsive to email messages, transmitted in packet form, through the packet switching network The voice communication system includes a network device responsive to a voice message generated by the telephone user. The voice communication system is operative to convert the voice message to an email message, establish a first connection between the network device and the host server for transmission of the email message, edit the voice message pursuant to commands from the telephone user and transmit the email message, in the form of packets, to the host server for storage thereof and transmission thereafter to the email recipient, wherein the voice message may be manipulated by the telephone user prior to the transmission thereof by the network device without the use of secondary storage within the network device.
