Abstract:
A multi-layer wiring board where a plurality of wiring boards are laminated. The wiring board comprises a flexible insulating layer having a through hole and a wiring pattern formed on the flexible insulating layer. The wiring pattern is composed at least of two conductive layers. The first conductive layer formed on the insulating layer is made of a non-metallic conductor and the first wiring pattern is formed by a laser beam. The second conductive layer is an electroplated layer formed on the first wiring pattern. The first and second conductive layers have different reflectance for a beam. The wiring board is manufactured by integrally laminating a plastic conductive supporting plate wound in a roll shape and an insulating film similarly wound in a roll shape; forming a through hole in a predetermined position of the insulating film; forming the first conductive layer on the laminated body provided with the through hole; forming the first wiring pattern by a laser beam; and forming the electroplated layer on the first wiring pattern.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of forming a trench pattern in a ceramic green sheet for subsequently filling with a conductive paste resulting in a fully inlaid conductor pattern therefrom. Starting with a green sheet, a high contrast ink drawing of the desired conductor pattern is formed thereon. The drawing may be formed by direct printing on the green sheet or by first printing it on a flexible substrate such as paper and then transferring by xerography to the green sheet. Next, the green sheet is illuminated with an intense noncoherent light source to cause a high degree of absorption of the light energy by the inked areas and volatilization of the green sheet binder material thereunder, thereby forming a trench pattern conforming to the drawn pattern.

Abstract:
A photoflash unit having a plurality of high voltage type flashlamps mounted in a planar array on a printed circuit board containing circuitry for sequentially igniting the flashlamps in response to successive high voltage firing pulses applied thereto. The circuitry includes a plurality of solid state switches capable of being easily activated by radiant energy generated during flashing of lamps located adjacent to respective switches. Initially, the switches have a high resistance, and after being activated by radiation, they undergo chemical conversion to a conductive state. The switches are prepared from compositions which include a comparatively large proportion of nonconductive inert particulate solids to improve switch functioning.
Abstract:
Deposited on a glass or ceramic substrate for a thin-film microcircuit board such as a hybrid IC board or a transparent electrode is a thin-film laminate, which comprises a dispersion metal thin-film dispersible and evaporable upon application of an energy above a threshold value and an electrical property-imparting film defining a conductor or a resistor. Then a high intensity of light having an energy sufficient to cause dispersion is applied selectively on the thin-film laminate, thereby removing exposed portions of the thin-film laminate as a result of dispersion and evaporation thereof. Unexposed portions of the thin-film laminate provide a desired pattern. The electrical property-imparting film is a thin-film of noble metal such as gold, silver or platinum or a thin film of transparent electrode material such as SnO.sub.2 or In.sub.2 O.sub.3, which is not easily dispersible upon application of the above energy.

Abstract:
A flash lamp array including a plurality of flash lamps and sequencing electrical circuitry for sequentially flashing the lamps. The array comprises a flash sensing indicator that is readily observable by an operator of the flash lamp array and includes a generally flat radiation sensitive means and having sections thereof aligned with the flash lamps. Each radiation-sensitive section is positioned to receive some of the radiant energy emitted by the flashing of one of the aligned lamps and is operable to constrict and change appearance upon being irradiated to provide an indicia of such flashing. The radiation-sensitive sections are each provided with a structurally weakened portion so that upon irradiation by the flashing of one of the aligned lamps, the irradiated one of the radiation-sensitive sections will readily separate at the structurally-weakened portion to readily constrict upon itself to positively provide a desired change in appearance of the irradiated section.
Abstract:
An electrically insulative adhesive coating for a circuit board used with a photoflash lamp array to provide sequential firing of the flash lamps. The circuit board includes the lamp firing circuitry along with switching elements connected in said circuitry and the insulative coating prevents electrical shorting of the circuitry. In a preferred embodiment, the coating material may be an organic polymer and may be provided with openings to permit radiation transfer from the flashing lamps to the underlying switches which are radiation-responsive.
