Abstract:
Systems and methods for recommending that a business deliver an advertising message to an individual make use of information about the individual's activity on a telephony system. The information about the individual's activity on the telephony system can indicate that the individual is in communication with certain types of businesses. The information can also indicate the timing of those communications. This information is used to recommend that similar businesses send advertising messages to the individual. The information can also be used to recommend that the advertising messages be delivered at certain times.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of recommending that two parties form a link on a social networking system use activities conducted by the first party on a telephony system and information contained in contact or link lists stored for the second party on the social networking system to determine if the two parties are likely acquainted. If a comparison of this information indicates that the parties are likely acquainted, or at least are acquainted with common third parties, a recommendation that they form a link on the social networking system is issued to one or both parties.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of recommending that two people form a link on a social networking system use activities conducted by the two people on a telephony system to determine if the two people are likely acquainted. If it appears that both parties are calling each other, or if both parties are placing or receiving calls from common individuals, a recommendation that they form a link on the social networking system is issued to one or both parties.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of recommending that two people form a link on a social networking system use information drawn from contact lists or address books that are maintained by a social networking system for the two people. The information drawn from the contact lists is compared to information in a cross-reference database maintained by a telephony system to obtain alternate identifiers for the individuals and businesses listed in the contact lists and address books maintained by the social networking system. If some of these alternate identifiers match between the two people, there is a chance that the two people are acquainted, or at least are acquainted with the same people. In that instance, a recommendation that they form a link on the social networking system is issued to one or both parties.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for voicemail filtering and transcription are described herein. According to various embodiments, an integrated communication system performs filtering and transcription of voicemail messages (“voicemails”) and forwards the voicemails via email to a user's email-capable device. Filtering includes generating a priority flag based on a word search of the voicemail. The integrated communication system further performs a rough transcription of the voicemail, either automatically or on demand as specified by the user. According to embodiments, the rough transcription is entered as text in an email that is sent to the user. In an embodiment, a user may request a refined transcription of the voicemail by pressing a button on the user's device. In an embodiment, the rough transcription is replaced by the refined transcription in the original email and the original is marked “unread” in the user's email inbox on the user's device.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to systems and methods for detecting and terminating a looping condition occurring in a telecommunications network comprising receiving a call offer comprising receiving call identification data associated with the call offer at a switching component, querying a looping engine using the call identification data to detect a looping condition, identifying a number of occurrences of the call identification data within a predetermined time frame, comparing the number of occurrences against a predetermined count, and returning a message to the switching component based on the comparison, the message indicating whether a looping condition exists in the telecommunications network.
Abstract:
A system and a method generate a recommendation on a mobile device. The system and the method may use a time, a location, a venue and/or an event to generate the recommendation. Further, the system and the method may use an event database to determine current interests of the user. Still further, the system and the method for generating a recommendation on a mobile device may use a transactional history of the user and/or behavior of other users to generate the recommendation. The system and the method may recommend, for example, digital media, news and event information, editorial content and/or physical or digital merchandise. As a result, the system and the method may generate a recommendation that corresponds to the current interests of the user.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for handling a call conflict at a call processing apparatus in a communication network, said call processing apparatus comprising a first call processing element which handles a first call initiated by a first terminal and a second call processing element which handles a second call initiated by a second terminal, when said second call processing element receives an incall message initiated by said first terminal and directed to communicate with said second terminal while said second terminal is in busy state, the method comprising: inquiring the called number in the call record of said second terminal; comparing initiating times of said first call and said second call, if said called number in said call record of said second terminal is the number of said first terminal contained in said incall message; and releasing the call with later initiating time and continuing setting up of the call with earlier initiating time, based on result of the comparison. Corresponding call processing apparatus and program product are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for determining mobile communication terminals (mobiles) that have a common user, or that have a group of users in common. The methods and systems examine change-of-association events of mobiles operating in a network, and correlate the events to determine common mobiles, i.e., mobiles that have the same or similar change-of-association events. The events described are generated by the mobiles themselves automatically, by virtue of the fact that the mobiles are operating in the network. There is thus no need for, and the embodiments described herein do not require, user intervention to generate the events.
