Abstract:
A method of adjusting the voltage applied across the pixels of an OLED display to compensate for aging including measuring the accumulation of trapped positive charge to produce a signal representative of such accumulation, and responding to such signal to adjust the voltages applied across the pixels of the OLED to compensate for aging.
Abstract:
A postacquired spectrophotometer, for use with a sample and reference. The spectrophotometer has a filter unit, defining an axis of movement, and pluralities of designated sites and dark sites disposed in uniform relation to the axis. The designated and dark sites are disposed in alternation. Alternating designated sites have apertures and filters covering the apertures. Further, a main member, coaxial with the filter unit, has sample and reference beam paths, which are intersected by the sites. The main member has disposed, in operative relation to the actuators, an actuator sensor, which generates an integration actuator signal upon alignment with each integration actuator and a clamping actuator signal upon alignment with each clamping actuator. Moreover, a drive continuously moves the filter unit relative to the axis and beam paths. Further, a light distribution system directs light separately from the sample and reference to respective beam paths, and then to a detector, which produces a detector signal responsive to light received. Finally, means for processing the signals is provided, including a clamping circuit, integrators, and a demultiplexer.
Abstract:
A method of doping vanadium pentoxide with silver comprising the steps of: providing vanadium pentoxide gel providing stable colloidal silver and combining the vanadium pentoxide gel and the colloidal silver at room temperature for a period sufficient for vanadium (+5) to be electrochemically reduced to vanadium (+4) and for silver to be oxidized (+1).
Abstract:
A method of measuring the silver ion activity of a mixed halide solution or dispersion comprises measuring the potential difference between a silver halide coated silver electrode and a reference electrode immersed in the solution or dispersion. Prior to measuring the potential difference an electrical pulse is applied to the silver electrode which in a first phase electrochemically strips the electrode surface and in a second phase electrochemically coats the electrode with a silver halide having the halide ion ratio of the solution or dispersion.
Abstract:
A spectrophotometer is described, comprising a single light source, a single detector, optics for dually and alternatively reading a sample and a reference, and only one moving part. That moving part is a chopper containing multiple pass-through apertures, each filled with a unique bandpass filter to select wavelengths to specifically illuminate the sample or reference. To inform the spectrophotometer whether and when it is reading the sample or the reference, trigger means are provided in at least twice the number of the pass-through apertures.
Abstract:
A variable filter spectrophotometer, for use with sample and reference; has a main member, a filter unit, a drive, a detector, a light distribution system, and a clamping circuit. The main member defines first and second beam paths, which are intersected by the filter unit. The filter unit has filtering and opaque portions. The filter unit is continuously movable relative to the beam paths in a repeating cycle from a first filtering relation in which the filtering portion is interposed in the first beam path and the opaque portion completely blocks the second beam path, to a first dark relation in which both beam paths are blocked, to a second filtering relation in which the filtering portion is interposed in the second beam path and the first beam path is completely blocked, and to a second dark relation in which both beam paths are completely blocked. The filtering portion is variably transmissive along a direction of movement of the filter unit. The drive continuously moves the filter unit relative to the beam paths. The detector produces a signal responsive to light received. The light distribution system directs light separately to and from the sample and reference, to and from the beam paths, and to the detector. The clamping circuit clamps the signal produced by the detector during the filtering relations to the signal produced by the detector during the dark relations.
Abstract:
A planar glass ion-selective electrode is described comprising an inherently conductive internal reference electrode, a cation-selective glass membrane and means for adhering the reference electrode to the glass membrane. The thickness of the glass membrane is uniform in regions intended for contact with a sample for analysis. The glass electrode is useful in assaying for the presence of sodium, hydrogen, potassium and other cations present in samples such as blood, urine, plasma, and serum.
