Abstract:
The present invention is directed to compositions containing: (i) sugar and/or a sugar substitute and (ii) microcrystalline cellulose present in an amount equal to greater than 41% of the total weight of the composition. The present invention is also directed to compositions containing: (i) sugar and/or a sugar substitute and (ii) microcrystalline cellulose having an average particle size equal to or less than 20 microns and present in an amount equal to or greater than 20% of the total weight of the composition. The compositions of the present invention are useful in coating a wide variety of solid forms such as pharmaceutical dosage forms, veterinary dosage forms, nutraceutical dosage forms, food, industrial material, cosmetic material or oral care material. The compositions of the invention are also useful as films such as cast films. The present invention is also directed to methods of making such compositions, as well as methods of coating such compositions on solid forms.
Abstract:
A composition comprising: (i) at least one latex or pseudolatex water insoluble film former, (ii) at least one permeation enhancing agent and, optionally, (iii) one or more plasticizers. The present invention is also directed to substrates coated with the composition of the invention, films made from the composition and methods for making and using such compositions, coated substrates and films.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a lithium metal powder protected by a wax. The resulting lithium metal powder has improved stability and improved storage life.
Abstract:
A particulate co-processed composition comprising microcrystalline cellulose and at least one sugar alcohol is disclosed. A preferred sugar alcohol is mannitol. The composition has an improved compactability profile, lubricant sensitivity, and ejection profile compared to microcrystalline cellulose and the at least one sugar alcohol, either alone or in combination as a simple dry blend, in the preparation of solid dosage formulations, such as tablets. Tablets comprising the particulate co-processed composition, an active, and, optionally, one or more other excipients, and method for their preparation, are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An aqueous polymer coating composition containing at least one latex or pseudolatex is coated on a substrate in a high humidity coating process followed by heat treatment of the coated substrate above the film forming temperature of the coating at low humidity. The coated substrate gives a stable reproducible dissolution profile substantially insensitive to temperature or humidity conditions upon storage. The high humidity coating process is achieved by addition of water to the coating chamber through dilution of the coating formulation or humidification of inlet air. Contrary to the conventional low humidity coating process, residual water is retained in the coating layer of the coated substrates in the coating step. When the coated substrates are heat treated at a temperature greater than the minimum film forming temperature, the residual water in the coating layer will ensure adequate capillary force for the completion of film coalescence. High humidity heat treatment is not needed.

Abstract:
A syringe plunger has a hole is arranged in its plunger central axis, with a diaphragm arranged in the hole. The thickness of the diaphragm in the hole is from 0.01 mm to 0.5 mm. A manufacturing method of a syringe plunger includes the steps of: adding pigment into medical rubber and stirring uniformly; each of a fixed die and a movable die of a medical rubber syringe die being embedded with an impacting and penetrating needle, when molding and die closing, space between the impacting and penetrating needles of the fixed die and the movable die being 0.01 mm to 0.5 mm; demolding said molded medical rubber plunger.
