Abstract:
A technique for managing and representing dynamic context information. The system can manage local and remote activity information including sensor and computer application generated events such as calendar reminders. The technique allows users to store contextual relationship information associating an activity stream with temporary changes in the user interface that lie just outside a user's focus of attention in dynamic stylesheets. The dynamic stylesheets can be applied across work groups or companies and provide a similar contextual work environment. The dynamic stylesheets can also be customized to the specific needs of an individual. The techniques can be expanded beyond the computer desktop focus to include a user's complete work environment.
Abstract:
A presentation control system and method to facilitate the interaction between a user and a presentation device. The user generates tangible sensible identification devices, which are linked to items to be displayed in a presentation. In use, the user places the tangible sensible identification-carrying device in the sensible area of an identification sensing device. The identification sensing device reads an identification from the identification-carrying device and determines a presentation element identified by the identification. The presentation element is then displayed via a presentation display device. Alternatively, the user generates one or more control identification devices which are linked to controllable element(s) to be controlled in a presentation. In use, the user places the controllable identification-carrying device in the sensible area of a control identification sensing device. The control identification sensing device reads a control identification from the control identification-carrying device and determines a control element identified by the identification. The function associated with the selected element is then performed.
Abstract:
In a presentation control system environment, the methods and systems of this invention manipulate presentation elements to create a unified display characteristic between the elements selected for presentation. In particular, the systems and methods of this invention receive style identification information that corresponds to at least one attribute tags within a presentation element. A stylizer then manipulates the attribute tags to invoke style preferences governed by the style identification. Therefore, a unified, or customized, look can be achieved with any requested presentation element.

Abstract:
A plasma processing apparatus is provided with at least one waveguide portion for introducing microwaves, an electron heating space chamber formed on a downstream side with respect to a dielectric body in the waveguide portion, and a plasma generating space chamber coupled with the electron heating space chamber. A first static magnetic field generating device surrounds the electron heating space chamber using permanent magnets, producing a strong magnetic field exceeding an electron cyclotron resonance magnetic field strength along a propagation direction of the microwave in the electron heating space chamber and in a microwave leading-out portion of the dielectric body, and forming a cusped magnetic field. This cusped magnetic field falls steeply from a position of electron cyclotron resonance magnetic field strength to a boundary portion between the electron heating space chamber and the plasma generating space chamber and its direction is reversed to that of the strong magnetic field with decreasing distance from the boundary portion between the electron heating space chamber and the plasma generating space chamber to the plasma generating space chamber. A second static magnetic field generating device is provided with permanent magnets arranged around the plasma generating space chamber. Adjacent ones of the permanent magnets have polarities opposite to each other.
Abstract:
A microwave plasma generator, wherein permanent magnets 3 forms intense magnetic field exceeding an intensity of electron cyclotron resonance magnetic field at microwave exit 6a of a dielectric body in an electron heating space chamber, the intensity of the magnetic field formed by the permanent magnet decreases rapidly to the zero at a point 14 in the vicinity of the boundary of the electronic heating space camber 1 and a plasma generating space chamber 2, and accordingly, most of electrons can be absorbed into electrons to heat and form high energy electrons at a position 12a-12c in electron cyclotron resonance layer 12.
Abstract:
For detecting a component of a substance (of liquid or solid) on a front surface of a substrate, the substrate with the substance thereon is transferred into a vaporizing section, the substance is heated in the vaporizing section so that the component is vaporized from the substance in the vaporizing section, the component vaporized is fed from the substance in the vaporizing section to a detecting section, and the vaporized component is detected in the detecting section.
Abstract:
In order to uniformly neutralize a large current and a large diameter ion beam so as to irradiate an ion beam having a reduced beam divergence on a process target, an ion beam processing apparatus comprises an ion source for producing a processing plasma, a processing chamber as a vacuum chamber for accommodating a process target, an extract electrode for extracting an ion beam so as to irradiate on said process target, an annular electrode disposed in said processing chamber for forming an annular magnetic field therein, through which said ion beam is irradiated on said process, and a wave guide for introducing microwave through an opening provided on a wall forming said processing chamber, into said annular magnetic field.
Abstract:
Dielectric bodies are arranged in waveguide portions for passing microwave radiation and for holding a plasma generating chamber 25 at a vacuum. The dielectric bodies are arranged to intersect at least an electron cyclotron resonance area of the waveguide portions. A tip end portion of the dielectric bodies at a side of the plasma generating chamber are positioned toward at a side of the plasma generating chamber from an intermediate portion in an axial direction length of a first permanent magnet which is arranged by enclosing an outer periphery of the waveguide portions, and a tip end portion of the dielectric bodies at a side of the plasma generating chamber is substantially consistent with an inner face of the plasma generating chamber.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided that reliably saves sections of sounds and images believed to be important by associating the sounds and images with user input, changes in sounds, and changes in images. A condition-matching interval detecting device takes audio data or image data from a data input device and detects a condition-matching interval that matches prescribed conditions set beforehand. The incoming audio data or incoming image data is associated with data indicating the condition-matching interval and is stored temporarily in a temporary storing device. If the user-input detecting device detects user-input data, a sequence from the audio data or the image data stored temporarily in temporary storing device is stored in time-series data storing device, the sequence beginning at least from the start of a condition-matching interval. The association between the user-input data and the memory position within time-series data storing device of the audio data or the image data corresponding to the user-input data is stored in an association storing device.
